Divisional Round: Brady/Manning XVII in Foxborough. Manning chokes for the billionth time and Lord Brady laughs his way to the AFCCG.

AFCCG: Steelers somehow end up in another AFCCG against the Pats. They finally get over the Brady hump and take a close game in Foxborough on Ben's arm.

Super Bowl: Cardinals run the table lead by the miraculous Coach of the Year Bruce Arians. Bruce is the second ex-Steeler OC to take the Cardinals to the Super Bowl against their former team. Arians has the opportunity for revenge for being forced to "retire" as the Steelers OC.

Todd Haley, the Cardinals OC in 2008, is on the other sideline this time as Bruce's replacement.

Carson Palmer finally has a chance to repay the Steelers for derailing his career in the 2005 playoffs in Cincinnati.

Brett Keisel was at the airport to head to Arizona for a contract when he and his kids began getting emotional and he called Colbert to ask for a deal to stay in Pittsburgh.

James Harrison comes out of retirement and leads the Steelers' D to the Super Bowl for one last ride.

The storylines are too great, Rog! It's a win-win for the league, so make it happen, WWE style!

I don't actually expect this to come to fruition, but if it does, you heard it here first.

SORRY Zack, love the venture, but afraid the rides not there. The "fix" is definitely in, but for either a manning or a brady as either are close to calling it quits. We don't have Jrome and our QB has been naughty. Dick L. has already been rewarded. You got the part right about brady and many, out come may not be right, but both will be there. I'm thinking that sometimes a team is to good and can beat the fix. I'm hoping that's where our beloved STEELERS come in. One can dream the dream as mine is happening now.

You really think the fix is in? Logistically, how would that work?

If the fix exists, there is NO WAY Rog lets Harrison in another Superbowl...

I said at the bottom that I don't expect this to happen, haha. I just think it's the perfect storyline for this year, given the direction of the teams involved as of late. Something too-good-to-be-true that, if it occurred, we might be inclined to think it was staged.

Look how close some of the games were in the past, think of the tuck rule, many of those games were decided by a field goal that propelled a team to the next game or the championship. A penalty that negates a score could be huge, keeping a drive alive could be huge, it would not take much to get a favorite if they were competitive into the big game, if you wanted to get say Tampa in there it might become way to obvious.

Not saying that you can tell it is fixed because.... just that the possibility is real for a fix to happen.

I can see this being the year of the "Cardinals".

Bruce Arians, from Cancer to "Dancer". The Cards from perennial loser to big winner. Carson Palmer from devastating knee injury to Super Bowl winner. Cardinals fan base finally rewarded for their loyalty...

Ya, I can see that fix.

It won't matter who wins the SB it will prove the conspiracy true... unless the Steelers win then it's only because the Steelers are so good they couldn't rig it.

Before the start of the season they put a new empathise on pass interference being called more tightly and it's going to be called at will.I think this all sets up to them wanting a potent pass happy team to make the run for the Super Bowl. If I was a beating man it'd be Manning vs Luck in the AFC championship game before Luck evidently winning it all and becoming the next elite QB that they want to crown so bad. Colts vs Cardinals in the Super Bowl. Luck against his former coach, who would've thought?

I look at it like that all the time, only way I can see when I'm sporting the B&G shades....... lol Conspiracy theories are just that. Something that could be true, yet no rock solid proof. For instance, America knew the world was at war, but it took the Germans bombing pearl harbor, as their "PROOF" there was a war on. Theory / proof / suspect, there is way to much money to leave it all to chance, in the NFL.

the nfl already makes a ton...how much $$ (ballpark estimate) would the league be risking if they are, indeed, "not fixing" outcomes??

Everybody knows the NFL is fixed because all the money they make on Manning vs. Manning SBs, Brady winning all 5 of his SBs, L.A. teams winning all those SBs, small market teams like Pittsburgh and GB never winning a SB, Large market teams like Dallas, Jets, Miami, Oakland, all winning recent SBs, and even expansion teams like the clowns and Jax. winning SBs so they make more money. Hell can't you see the conspiracy man?

Like I said, everything proves the conspiracy. I guess the NFL loves the Steelers since they won more than any one else. OH that's right... the Steelers are so great that they can't be conspiracized against.

Fixing a game would NOT be easy. The fact that games are usually close makes them harder to fix not easier. I know it's not fixed because Vegas accepts bets on it.

Is the NFL guilty of fixing outright game results? No.

Does the NFL carefully manage its product so as to maximize its upside and minimize the downside, in every regard? They certainly try to.

Kinda neat that the lying, cheating Rats mgmt and ownership threw them such a sucker punch. ******* Roger must have felt Blindsided.

You realize the NFL is a non profit organization, right? Anyone remember them saying if we built them a new stadium with luxury boxes they would win us another super bowl? It just kind of struck me as odd. Maybe it's just me. Probably just a coincidence.

The OP seems to be forgetting that we know Carson Palmer. He's a first ballot hall of fame choke artist. He will be inducted into the choke artist hall of fame in his first year of eligibility.

Carson Palmer will never lead his team to the Super Bowl.

The idea of the league blatantly fixing games is absurd at its very premise. People like to to draw parallels between the NFL and professional wrestling, but the game of football is infinitely more difficult to manipulate, without it being painfully obvious, because there are so many more variables and moving parts involved

Anyone who has played the game at even a high school level can see how flawed such thinking is.

Does the league possibly work to influence results with rule emphasis changes and favoritism in the realm of officiating? Perhaps, but that does not equate to flat out scripting games and seasons as if they're soap operas. That notion is just stupid.

Yeah you're probably right. I imagine it would be virtually impossible to fix a professional football game.

I'll just keep posting this since you all are so dogged in your mission to take this seriously, lol.

Exactly. When Manning's WRs were being raped in NE the league changed the rules some. They want to make the game more fluid. I get that. But the idea that the NFL could script games is just flat ignorant. I've played football and have coached a little.

Yeah you're probably right. I imagine it would be virtually impossible to fix a professional football game.

If you owned the refs it would be entirely possible. There's a hold on nearly every play. There's downfield contact on nearly every play. Almost any hit can be construed as excessive. The spot of the ball is highly organic.

If you owned the refs, as Roger does, you could easily create nearly any desired outcome.

No it's not that easy.

Even if they "owned the refs" it would be next to impossible to consistently rig the outcomes without it looking as laughable as what Vince McMahon puts out on a weekly basis.

Though they're throwing more flags, no doubt, you're overrating the number of flags relative to the average outcome of games. It's not THAT much over the course of the season.

I don't think the games need to be scripted, a few bad calls could keep a team in it enough to win or could give the game to one of two that are closely matched, does not have to be scripted to be fixed. With that scenario the team that was supposed to win could still get beat but they will still be in the game. Look how many games are won by three points or less a bad call at the right time could easily change the outcome of one of those games.
