Andy Wiedl expected to be named new assistant GM

Aditi got the spelling wrong, it's Weidl (sorry!) and I wonder where Hunt is in all of this?

I felt like it was always going to be Khan or Hunt, so Khan is no surprise. I feel like that is a reasonable move and, from the outside looking in, I would say he has earned the shot. Given Khan's strengths, Weidl seems like a nice pickup supplement the areas Khan is (or at least may be) weaker in.

Glad for the help in balance as ones stregnths enhances the other's weakness, should be a good match.

I like the decisions…
As the candidates piled up and time went on.. I always felt they would select two individuals..

In fact, I think I posted that out loud in this forum a month or so back?

heard he's going to Philly for Weidl's position, ironically enough.
Makes sense for him to take another opportunity. I don't think those Philly personnel guys stay in place too long either. A lot seem to get hired around the league from what I was reading today.

A nice article on him I think this is a solid read.

Here's a link to the Eagles' draft history.

Obviously, it's a loose reference point, as Wiedl was not the person ultimately making the decisions with the Eagles.

However, he had a large role in the Eagles personnel department since 2016.
He was a big part of the renewed approach to building through the draft after Chip Kelly gutted that roster. The fact that they won a SB 2 years removed from Kelly is a miracle!
