Anyone have a spare room for the Draft?

I live 3 hours away. A guy from work rented an air b and b for Thursday and Friday night and a group is going. I was invited, but just can’t pull the trigger on getting into that mess. Day 2 will probably be less hectic but day 1 will basically be Times Square on NYE. Every bar and restaurant will be packed…I’ll pass. Also heard that the parking garages will be charging $200 and up per day during the draft.

Good luck.

I have a FREE room and a lot of open acreage.

No traffic, FREE Parking, Trailer Court Girl entertainment (not sure on their pricing, but Lunar and Coolie can give you current rates and times)

Approximately 19 hr drive to event.

Salute the nation

We're staying 20 minutes away and Ubering. Can you say "surge pricing"?

Lebanon -- We don't have room, but if you can get a small group, do what we did -- get a smaller place and bring the air mattresses. When the draft was in Chi-town ten years ago, we hosted 6 in our tiny condo. Air mattresses, couches, sleeping bags. Try both AirBNB and VRBO, we did the latter.

And Buster is right, it's going to be a zoo, but I don't need to be near the stage. Just get me to a bar with TVs.

Unfortunately all my space is occupied right now, but my suggestion is steer clear... Pittsburgh is a wreck when less than 100k people show up for an event... the NFL estimates between 500,000 and 700,000 people will be there... it will be a logistics nightmare

To quantify my comments, I am what I consider to be a young 55 and up for a good time more so than my counterparts, but this is just not appealing to me.

I think that a bar with a good tv may be a challenge. They will be packed.

For some reason I feel this would be a fun experience but the prices for rooms are insanely outrageous. Anyone going to the draft want to rent a spare bedroom for a night or two? I will buy a few rounds as well.

There is 0% chance they will have a Pens playoff game during the draft. There are no hotels in a 2 hr radius with more than auxiliary rooms available.. the NHL schedules around things like this... even if it means playing the games a few days later or breaking the home away schedule up differently.. there are several examples

Are you not screening people from Lebanon for this event ?

Keep in mind this would be for the entire weekend. The Pittsburgh region has no where near that many hotels or rooms for out-of-town travelers. 500,000 over three days is less than 170,000 people per day and that includes locals attending the draft. There were 400,000 people in the North Shore area over Taylor Swift weekend a few years ago and there were no issues at all getting around.

You can crash at my place. I'll be throwing a wild, three day extravaganza you don't want to miss. There'll be plenty of food and snacks, all types of alcohol, some recreational drugs, music, sex and maybe some fighting and arguing. And you don't have to pay for a thing. The best part is, you don't have to worry about long waits for the restroom as you're the only one I'm inviting over.
