Apparently Gambling on NFL Games as a Player Is Not Okay

Normally, I'd say the player is ****** because of the contracts signed in professional sports making gambling the #1 no no.

However, now that the league is in bed with casinos, on line casinos, sports books, and owns a team in ******* Las Vegas, how the **** are you going to say you can't bet on sports.

And this is besides the fact that gambling is an addiction to some people. Might be a lawsuit coming if that's the case.

it has been forever ago but I think Rose bet on games he played in.
I thought it was games he managed and he also only bet that they won.

Every athlete should know not to bet on their sport after what happened to Pete Rose who absolutely should be in the Hall of Fame. It's one of the rules that is very highly frowned upon in most (if not all sports). It's the rule. He knew it. He chose to break it. He knew the consequences and now he has to face the consequences of his actions. No one else is responsible or to blame. I have no sympathy whatsoever for him.

I' not a gambler at all, maybe a sucker bet here and there / pick eMs.

I do know of some gamblers and they are addicted. One guy gets comped rooms / meals / lots of stuff. He is the addicted $30,000.00 guy. Will go to Vegas and come home $30G ahead or just as easily $30G behind. As usual, never hear about the losing but always hear about the winning.

He is mostly cards but "sports" betting is becoing way ore popular to him.

Legit sportsbooks are becoming more and more popular, but if you want to place a bet on the Super Bowl, you need to do it online. Big online bookmakers have different offers for different types of gamblers. Some offer very high odds for highly probable outcomes, and others give you a better chance to win because of their lower odds. The first thing is to find out how pay-per-head services work. Then you have bookmakers that have good odds for both outcomes, which can be good for gamblers who aren't sure about their favorites or don't know a lot about the teams playing in the championship game or any other major sports event.

NFL integrity. Wow. Dumber than AOC.

"There is nothing more fundamental to the NFL's success-and to the reputation of everyone associated with our league-than upholding the integrity of the game"

The newest Carolina Panther cheerleader approves of this message..

Meh I spent a decade of my life working in The meadows OTB’s… unless you have money to burn on entertainment, gambling is a chumps endeavor… when they tracked those vip’s with reward cards, like maybe one out of a hundred was even close to break even for a calandrr year… many were 100’s of thousands or even in a couple cases over a million in the hole…

It's made super clear to all players about gambling so it is what it is. But still the optics with serious law transgressions and slimy behavior.

For those who know the rules better than me. Say he gives $1500 to his mom or GF, etc.. They place the bet. Is it off limits for his family to gamble as well?

Good point.
Even if he gives the $1500 to a friend or relative to bet on a game he's playing in, how would preventing that be enforced?
He's as guilty as if he did it himself.

I believe I read somewhere that this, or a similar situation is actually what occurred. He had one of those online betting sites in someone else's name. However, the money to place the bets was coming from his bank account. Dumb
