Are our starting safties varsity material?

To be fair he seemed like he was targed on a few plays. And that Davis hit on Haden was inexcusably horrible..

Overall the S play hasn't been good enough. And giving up 33 it is trending in the wrong direction.

Davis sucks as a starter. He blows tackles and makes next to zero plays on the ball. At this point he’s as good as he’s going to get.

Edmunds better pan out. You can win with one sub par starting safeties, but two sub par safeties is s problem.

With a better scheme perhaps it lessens the problems we are seeing.

I think Edmunds will be just fine

The problem I have with Edmunds is where we drafted him. This kid had a much lower draft grade than where he was taken. I’ll bet he would have been there in the third round and if someone else reached for him, so be it. It’s not like he’s the second coming of Troy or Ed Reed.
We could have had better quality player in round one and for that matter round two.

Not really. We have low football IQ types taking bad angles and a lack of playmaking skills. Tackling is also an issue. One guy is a veteran, the other a rookie. We can only hope the rookie improves, as for the veteran, move on as soon as possible. Edmunds to me is not a good man coverage safety,

Last night really left a sour taste in my mouth as the iceberg has hit the titanic for the season. We are sinking, and I thought gee, what is we used the extra 14.5 million in cap space to sign a really good safety, and spent our first three picks of the draft on ILB ( 3 down variety ) , CB, and OLB. That's sounds good, but the first major move that has to be made is finding a better head coach.

And the odds of that happening for 2019 are long.

When Davis hit Haden on a sure int; that was pretty cringeworthy
