Ah Baltimore. Such stewards of their tax dollars. What a shithole.

Officials with the City of Baltimore announced a lawsuit Friday against major oil producers such as Exxon, BP, and Shell Oil, claiming the companies caused damages by contributing to global climate change.

"This lawsuit which we filed this morning is aimed to hold the fossil fuel companies accountable for the harm that has been inflicted on our community," said Baltimore City Solicitor Andre M. Davis said.

Their low IQ representatives of course offered their full support.

At the Friday announcement of Baltimore's lawsuit, congressional representatives from the offices of Sen. Ben Cardin (D.) and Rep. Elijah Cummings (D.) were in attendance to show their support for the effort, according to Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh.

The same Ben Cardin who released a report that stated this -
A Republican Staff Report by the Senate suggests that Russian funds have been funneled through off-shore corporations and passed on to U.S. based environmental activist organizations with the intent to effect political change.

Senator Ben Cardin, D, Maryland, has also released a report on how the Russians are manipulating the media. Sen. Cardin’s work indicates Russian intelligence agencies “…provide covert support to European environmental groups to campaign against fracking for natural gas, thereby keeping the European Union [countries] more dependent on Russian supplies.” Sen. Cardin goes so far in his report to state that environmental groups are “…useful idiots…”. Sen. Cardin believes unwitting environmental groups and activists are helping the Russians and are being manipulated in the process.

Useful idiots indeed.

Because Baltimore is out of money after they chased all the wealth producers to the suburbs.

Baltimore, like Philadelphia, is a shithole. Other than crab cakes, it has no redeeming value.

They can't manage their budgets so they want to try to get some "free" money to make up for their corrupttion.

Didn’t two simular lawsuits just get thrown out? Like there is ample precedent that this seems like a huge waste of time and money....

Highest-Ever U.S. Crude Oil and Natural Gas Liquids Production

The American Petroleum Institute (API) released its monthly statistical report on Thursday, revealing the highest-ever production of U.S. crude oil and natural gas liquids in June.

During that month, production of crude oil hit 10.7 million barrels per day (mb/d), and production of natural gas liquids hit 4.2 million barrels per day, .

“Record production of U.S. crude oil and natural gas liquids last month highlighted the strength of our nation’s energy renaissance,” Dean Foreman, API chief economist, said in the announcement of the report. “U.S. oil production has supplied all of the growth in global oil demand so far this year and helped compensate for production losses in some OPEC nations.”

“With continued increases in drilling activity, the U.S. is poised for further production increases in natural gas and oil,” Foreman said.

Domestic refineries ran at their highest percent capacity utilization rate in June (96.6 percent) since 2005.

The oil and natural gas industry supports 10.3 million U.S. jobs,

They used up the tobacco settlement money.

If they don't like the fuel...stop sending it to them...they can be eco-friendly....

My state was dem run when that settlement was made. They spent it up right away and even killed most of our surplus. Thank goodness the voters were on to them and voted them out years ago.

I hope the price of my 93 octane I'm stuck with goes down soon. That would be grand.
