Here is my only thing with Ben. I think he became a good husband, team leader and man as far as I can tell. I don't think it started that way. The media clearly had axe to grind when they gave Holmes SB MVP. Literally no other QB is not getting that award. That was before Georgia. So I just don't think he came across to people very well in that period of his career.

One day Ben was down the south side drinking with a boyfriend of one of tge neigborhood women I grew up with. She called him about something and ended up talking to Ben. She gave tge phone to her best friend who was single. Ben started hitting on her until she mentioned she had a kid... then he hung up on her...
for the record, the dude he was hanging with was a huge pot dealer down the south side.. but the point of the story is there are a hundred rude or shady stories about him and his entourage from his early career

Above was my suspicion. And it is true it's not where you start its where you end. But it cost hom a hell of a lot in the process and I truly believe with the sham it wouod appear of putting Manning in but not Ben he could have HOF trouble. If they are hard on Manning expect rough ride for Ben.

I try to never judge anyone as I don’t know where they are in their life’s journey. When I was young, I was a little rough around the edges. When I finally did grow up, and got a little control over my life, my journey changed drastically, giving better understanding and humility to bear.

BEN has changed by far for the better, that earns a lot of respect as many can’t make that transition, rich or poor.

Tip of the hat to all who have progressed in the positive and for those struggling, don’t give up, keep moving as you will get there. Know I’ll be rooting for you all the way.

I think he alluded to not always being the friendliest person. He definitely had some growing up to do. Early success can go to your head and he was always BMOC at Miami and in High School. Lots of ego stroking doesn’t help young guys behavior.

A number of bars and restaurants around Pittsburgh told him and his posse not to come back for not paying his tab, not tipping, and generally being rude to people.
