Ben R....

This was the SECOND GAME of the season, and it was on a short week.

I understand that also. But I also understand that because the defense is having all kinds of trouble we can afford these hiccups by our best player. He cant afford to be off. Right now we need him to be on. We need him to carry us.

I'd rather have a game like this during the first part of the season than the last if we are making a playoff push. I'm not ready to press the panic button after the second game on a short week. If he looks like **** (which it was only a few throws) next week against Carolina then we might have reason to be concerned.

Agreed......

We didn't score the 30 pts necessary to win games like I said, that's on the offense.

But I have never been more embarrassed to be a Steelers fan watching that pathetically weak, soft defense.

Season opener at Ravens in 2011 comes to mind. Same feeling during and after.

This was the SECOND GAME of the season, and it was on a short week.

It was the second game of the season on a short week for the Ravens, too. Plus, they had all the Rice stuff going on. Didn't seem to matter much to them.

Roethlisberger does need to be better, but was anyone surprised at the offense looking like garbage on the road in a primetime game? That is the standard.

For me it has become coaching.

As I see the body of work of Tomlin AND other coaches. Baltimore, San Fran, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, these teams you can tell get coached up. They usually are in the game, if they lose it is usually a play here or there. The whole team looked like hot garbage. And both teams had a short week. If anyone had a right to play lousy it was the Ravens yet there they were focused.

Ravens first loss by a TD.

All aspects of the team we love are accountable sure..

But the mentioned coaches can take decent talent and make them play better.

Our team is underperforming in too many areas.

And we know where it starts and stops with..

coaching

I will try not to overkill this all year, but I would like a a new group of coaches from the head down. This team has tried the team turnover and are regressing.

It is time for the coaching turnover.

And however the season ends, I will be hoping for just that afterwards.

Hoping for nothing but wins, but knowing the team needs a change to get back where they need to be.

Feel strongly about this.................

So here is a question. Let's say they go 6-10 or thereabouts this year. Do you pay Ben the 20 or more million he wants?

6-10 means he hasn't carried them to too many victories.

They could put Landry Jones in there and go 2-14 and get higher draft picks, for all 6-10 is worth.

I think we sit around all waiting for a guy to look like Manning and Brady. Look, it ain't gonna happen. Never. So if that is what you want, forget it. My buddy and I discussed this last night and came to a realization. Ben will never be a Manning or Brady, so why would you pay him that money? The thing is, you put Ben on that Denver team against Seattle in the SB last year, and maybe they don't win, but it is a game. That's why you pay him the money. It is an interesting dilemma.

Oh you pay Ben, you just get him a coach who can put him in the best position to win, and keep him focused and winning.

Guy wants to get paid bringing in extra nutrition/trainers show that.

I think he just needs a push in the right direction.

He has shown to be capable, just not a player that can do it without the right coach IMO.
