Ray was a good tackler but never a hard hitter. He weighs as much as Bettis' thigh so if he hit him off balance, yes it probably looked fierce but I doubt the Bus batted an eye at squaring up on Ray the next play. Hell, I remember Amos Zereoue knocking Ray Ray back 5 yards for a TD when Ray Ray squared up to put a lick on him one-on-one and all of Amos Zereoue's 5-7 200lbs took on the killer and knocked him into the end zone.

This is exactly what I remembered as I read this post. Good memory. Guess Ravens fans forget things in between the end of the Atlanta Super Bowl and The Hail May against the Broncos.

That hit didn't look like like anything special. Bettis was off balance making a cut with players at his feet. Just looked like an open field tackle to me. Where is the video of Bettis absolutely flattening Ray. I remember a game Ray tried to lay a big hit on Bettis. Instead Bettis absolutely destroyed Ray on the play. It was 20 times worse than that play..LOL. I thought they were going to call the stretcher for Ray. I tried looking for that video before but couldn't find it.

I would love for someone to find that video. Bettis was carrying the ball, and Ray come across trying to lay a big hit on Bettis, Instead Ray ran into a brick wall and fell flat on his face. Bettis put the should on him something fierce. Ray was clearly shaken up after that one, and surprised he got up. You could tell Ray was hurt'n after that.

Proud to say I was at that game, and the gf of mine at the time performed at halftime of that game on the field (no she wasn't performing on a pole).
