Black n Gold vs Dirty Birds game thread.

These 2nd halves the last handful of games have been horrible.
Sullivan calls the first half and Canada gets the second? Seriously, it is like two different people are calling plays during each half.

I practiced drinking all day, I'm doing great!

This could very well be it !!!! I **** you not.

The run defense, which has been better this year, got steamrolled in the second half. They really need another elite level player on the DL to emerge, especially with Heyward nearing the end.

It's also pretty obvious Watt is nowhere near 100% right now.

The holding penalty negating the Falcons TD helped, but that always gets called out in the open like that.

Pickett still has a few too many errant throws, in which I do wonder about the baby hands and the NFL ball, but he also shows a lot of good things .

He and the offense seem to be making some progress, despite the issue with DJ and potentially Pickens with his "I'm open every ******* play" BS that he doesn't even try to hide.

Najee is healthy again and running well, in fact all the backs looks good right now, which largely reflects better run blocking from the OL.

The issues with DJ and Pickens worry me a bit, as it is about the last thing a developing QB needs between DJ's drops/fumbles on routine balls and Pickens constant whining.

This is not the Ward/Burress WR tandem Ben enjoyed his rookie year, nor the league's best running game, though it is getting better, it seems.

Great win! Pickett played well again. Canaduh with some bizarre play calls in the 2nd half again and we couldn't score. 1st and 15 and we have 1 RB and 2 WR's tight to the line (one was 89 and the other I think was Sims - it wasn't DJ or Pickens). They know we are running. We get a couple. We needed at least 5 in that situation. 3 and out early in the 2nd half as usual the last 3 games. Just a bizarre call. Maybe if we needed a yard but not on 1st and 15.

I was thinking the same on several 1st down. Line up, D knows and stops them short, making 2 nd and long behind the chain. That is a,
O'Canada staple.

We would be better off with a play sheet, Koko the Donkey pointing out plays with a carrot, and a magic 8 ball.

Send the play in!

Super Dave, you've been around long enough to know that my one-armed **** flinging monkeys have a better track record than Koko the donkey and the Magic 8 ball combined. If rent is un-affordable let me know and we can work something out.

Would be great to have a Casey Hampton type to help stuff the run against decent running attacks.

For all the talk about Kenny and the WRs, my takeaway was that it great to watch the Steelers turn to the run to flip the table just before the 2 minute warning to help drain the clock and then after to make ATL burn timeouts. IMO, the running game is critical to keep the pressure off Kenny and Co. Hoping they stick with the run throughout the last quarter of the season to help open up the pass and in effect wear down the D

We completely shut down with the lead again… that shot works vs crap QBs, but its why we suck vs better teams… you just can’t run tge clock out on contender level teams… just these losing teams like indy and atlanta…
The good news is good teams beat the hell out of us and we don’t have to worry about playing turtle ball because we are down 3 scores

The competition hasn't been great the past couple of weeks, but there is no mistake the Steelers are winning games where they are running the ball more and not making Pickett it throw it 40+ times.
