Bradshaw no show at Noll funeral

It says he was at the meadows the day before the funeral and viewings took place. No mention of where he was supposed to go next but one thing about that kind of a gig if you blow off appearances for a funeral or something else you very well may not work again in that area. At Terry's age he may not be able to afford that. He was in an era that most players needed to get a job upon retirement from the NFL. The salaries did not make one independently wealthy like has happened to many of the modern day players who still manage to piss it away like for example TO.

Not to be a smartass, but I am pretty sure he is making more than minimum wage with FOX.

Otherwise, you guys are right and I was wrong with my initial reaction. It is not my place to judge whether he should have gone to the funeral or not.
 
Bradshaw was definitely at the Meadows on Saturday, 93.7 the fan was promoting it during the week and Ron Cooke did live promotional hits from it once an hour, at least, Saturday afternoon.

Also heard, think it was on Cook's mid-day show this week, that Jack Lambert came into town and was at the funeral home to privately visit the family but did not go to the church.
So just assumed Bradshaw did the same thing sometime Saturday.

Although today Savran was complaining about Bradshaw not being there at all so either he was uninformed about the details (possible) or it's true.
 
Or if the damn press was there wanting to talk to everyone coming to the funeral or the viewing maybe he just wanted to avoid a bunch of gotcha sound bites. Terry did some things with regard to Chuck Noll's passing at his show and maybe that is what he wanted to do in regard to it. Having been to funerals with a family member passing on that had huge numbers of people in attendance I can tell you I don't remember who was there or who wasn't. I also don't know that it would have made any difference to me if no one showed up there was no comfort in it for me. This is just my point of view, the funerals do not offer comfort or closure to the families, having several hundred people tell you they are sorry for your loss does not help either it just is one more thing to endure with the loss. The only people that get comfort from funerals are the people in the business of providing them, for every one else they are a drain.
 
Bradshaw has been my favorite Steeler since that glorious day at age 9, when I opened a 10cent pack of Topps football cards, and I was lucky enough to get a Bradshaw rookie card...which I still have btw...and then to notice that he and I shared the same birthday! That is very cool when your 9!

Kind of off topic but I thought I would share that.....if anyone gives rat's ***...

Now on to topic...It is one thing for us all to judge a man for his athletic prowess....but imho...I am not one to judge a man as a person, unless I know ALL the facts about a situation...

That sums up my opinion of Terry Bradshaw as a football player....and as a man...

When I lost someone close, I actually found it more helpful to disconnect for a bit. During that time, I leaned into simple distractions, and that’s when I found Rabona Casino. Their games and bonuses for Australian players gave me something to focus on without requiring much emotional energy. It wasn’t about winning—it was about having a quiet space to breathe and reset without the noise.

I really get what you’re saying—funerals can feel more like an obligation than a moment of comfort, especially when there’s pressure from the public or media

I think that Chuck Noll was a great coach but he must have been a helluva a difficult guy to be around if you weren't wired the same way as he was.

If you understand that Chuck Noll came from a stoic no nonsense German family. You'll grasp what molded him into who he was.

Which was a great teacher who stressed doing the fundamentals things right.

Germans tend to be very literal.
They have no sense of humor.
I could imagine Noll asking the same questions Newhart did. Lol

Yes,I'm aware of that since both sides of my family are heavily German. We're not all sticks in the mud...lol. They're very straight forward without a lot of nonsense.
 
I am German as is most of my family. I can attest to Germans having a sense of humor. My sisters husband is always saying jokes. Lot of similarities there and here. Some differences. Germans probably are more health conscious and money career focused but I have seen plenty of different examples for both sides. Like the US the Germany of old isn’t the present day Germany a lot has changed.

He did. It was a fabulously long funeral. Just ended recently, it seems
