There's worse things that could happen!
Would it be a casual glance or stare? He’d look good in a Steelers hot tub.
Depends on the depth of your fruit cup.Would it be a casual glance or stare?
I agree - too much to give up for him.I mean look, if they want him, he is a free agent next year… just go get him then ….
The problem with trading for him is the same as the bears getting Claypool last year… we weren’t trying to move him.. we weren’t opposed to it, but we weren’t actively trying to get him off the roster… so they had to pay a second to get him…
The Former redskins feel like he can help them this year, so sure if someone sends a second and a fourth or fifth, they will probably take it, but they aren’t moving him for a fourth or fifth on its own…
I personally wouldn’t give up that capital for a rental
I'm not giving up much in terms of a draft pick. I'd take him for a 5th or later. I know he's young with potential, but he's in a contract year and has 1.5 sacks in 12 games played over the past two seasons. I'm not making a trade based on potential.

however, since he's a FA next year, and currently so is Highsmith - I wonder which would be better for us going forward. Consider if we trade for Chase, then let Highsmith walk and do not sign anyone of the same compensation. We'd get a comp pick - and with our luck an 18th rounder in the 2067 draft - but have Young signed and could draft Highsmith's replacement if Herbig or Roche can't produce.
Yeap, the commanders are better off keeping him betting on having a good season and then getting a comp 3rd than just accepting a 4th or 5th nowTherein lies the rub.. the Commanches… or commanders or whatever they are these days just got a new owner. They barely missed out on the playoffs last year…
Rivera has missed the playoffs two years running… so this year everyone is going to be playing for their jobs…
That front office is not going to sell off a guy at discount then watch him play well elsewhere especially if it could have helped them in a “win now” season. Not with a new owner…
So it’s postulated that market value of Chase’s potential is about a third or maybe a high fourth… but the price that moves the needle for Washington is probably a second plus… so its very unlikely that he will be moved…
Compounding matters for everyone is that the guy is a free agent after the season, so whoever gets him either is losing him in one season, or is going to have to pay him a contract extension… which he has absolutely no reason to sign unless its an overpayment for his current value…
For us, in particular, we have no idea how he will look at linebacker in the NFL and we would almost have to gamble losing a known commodity in highsmith to take a chance on Chance..
Now if we wanted to gamble after the season is over on bringing him in as a ufa if he comes at a reasonable price then sure… lets see what he has… but this guy is too much of a question mark to waste premium assets on as a rental
