Broderick Jones decision?

Players play & Coaches coach...Players are ultimately the ones who decide if their career is gonna go anywhere.

These players get paid MILLIONS to be the best they can be...Yet they are not students of the game.

If we all had a sit down with BJ, or any of these struggling Steelers & asked him what he has personally done to get better since he has been a pro, I bet it would be crickets...

Does he have a personal OL coach just like QB's should have? Has he learned technique on his own ? Does he watch film & tape of the best tackles in the game today? I wonder if he has studied the great All-Time tackles & watched their techniques. Who is his 5 favorite ALL-TIME tackles and why? What made them great? Has BJ ever sought out a great tackle maybe who is retured to get some wisdom & pearls of knowledge?

What does Broderick Jones do on his own to get better? he signed the contract, not the coaches.

Every player, because of the NFL Players Association has limited exposure to training days, camp days etc. You NEED to get better on your own.

Coaches can coach, but Players gotta play. These kids don't do anything really to further their career on their own. Yet they take a paycheck each week.

I wonder what these guys actually do when they go home...Are they watching Video, or playing Video games?

I would cancel practice today & make the whole damn team watch some film on Kobe Bryant's relentless work ethic, study of footwork & opponents tendencies, strengths & weaknesses (He spent an off-season with Reggie Miller & learned his fade away from Reggie. Next fall in the Finals Kobe hit the fade away that Reggie taught him to seal the game... Kobe stayed after practice for hours, & had a burning passion to be the best.

Kobe did not rely on Del Harris, Kurt Rambis, or even the greatest NBA coach of All-Time in Phil Jackson to get better...He did it on his own

These dudes work very hard on their craft
They Put in countless hours
Guarantee they do a lot more than you did to become decent at your sales career

Anybody can sell ****, very few can make it to the NFL, they definitely put in the work to get there

This post just started with sooooo much garbage I could barely get past the first few lines of absolute bullshit.

What’s Tomlin’s excuse for not improving a bit in the last decade and actually getting worse?

Coach sets the culture, if players are allowed to get by resting on their laurels there is one guy to look at that is responsible for setting that culture.

Crickets…my ***!!! This wins for dumbest post of the season yet

Naw I’m talking in general about today’s players

I’ve done sales all my life, which is commission based and while there was management and “coaches” I knew my income was based upon how good I could get at my craft.

I bought so many books on the subject. How to win friends and influence people and bought every darn sales book I could get my hands on…

I watched videos, attended Seminars on my own dime, I would listen to recordings of different sales people to see what they did and what they did wrong. I even stole a couple of lines from my biggest Rival in the office.

I just don’t see these players having that inner drive to be the best they can be…

My rant is over
Sorry SteveO……..can’t help myself. When no one buys what you are spreading in the real world…..do you call them all haters?🫣🫣🍻

You are really, really talking about something you do not know. Not everyone can sell at a high level.

I have been #1 or #2 at Sales at EVERY PLACE I have ever been. GOOGLE "THE CREDIT COWBOY" STEVE ALTONIAN...I built a whole brand....You may even see my music online of which I read countless books, played until my fingers were bleeding, studied all night etc...

I know how to get better in a craft...

FACTS...That is a matter of historical record

Meh, ya gotta be really flexible to bend down and give yourself that hummer

Many people build
Brands and can sell
It ain’t that hard
Actually quite easy if that’s what ya want to do
Done that job, set the rookie record at my company and it bored the **** out of me. 2ez

Unlike
Becoming an NFL player which is extremely difficult and a small handful can do

Count the number of great salesmen and people
That have built a brand….guarantee the number is hundreds or thousands of times more than the very few people that reach the elite level
That is the NfL

Slow clap for the “brand builder” tho
Sounds like ya must need a pat on the back
Atta boy…you’re such a good little brand builder Stevie!

Actually I had to learn through the same process I described to NOT do that because I "used" to lose those sales...

I kinda know what I'm talkin' bout here boys

Agreed. He did get beat on a coverage sack but did what he needed to most part. They kept blitzing the gaps. More specifically Seumalo.
What is this? Is this actually allowed? 🤔

You have 2 agendas

1) Remove Tomlin from any culpability at all costs
2) Get a big ole taste of Tomlin’s nuts in your mouth
3....TO PISS OFF TOMLIN HATERS....

Which is harder now that I am sober for the first time in a year...I'm a little less of an azz when I ain't drinking

That game was brutal to watch sober

Reasons he sucks…

1) The technique he teaches blows and is ineffective as he tries to force this on players not of that skillset. If you want to teach that garbage technique bring in a karate master and a boxer to supplement cuz Pat ain’t got the skills.
2) players get worse under his tutelage-consistently
3) players don’t improve under his tutelage-consistently
4) almost every stop on his tenure the teams he has served for have gotten worse upon his arrival. The One exception in his entire career where the team improved for 1 season with him was as run game coordinator
5) just open your eyes and watch, Munch could turn DLmen into solid players….this guy turns first rounders into turnstiles

He sucks
But that is pretty much a prevailing qualification for any Tomlin hire…the throne must not be threatened by the competition of bright minds….only future scape goat dimwits need apply
I'm not trying to defend Pat Meyer, I really knew nothing about the guy before he came to Pittsburgh. Still don't. Munch was great, and deserves some credit for making a player out of AV, for example, but only some. You had a highly motivated guy there. Those guys are easy to work with. Meyer has Jones, who by some reports, may not be the most motivated guy. With AV you had a guy who had to work his *** off for everything, everything probably came easy to Jones until the NFL.

I get it about technique and all that. And that is highly important. But dammit, why can't these guys just whip the guy in front of them every once and a while regardless? To me it is a coaching AND player problem. Which means they need to revamp everything. Maybe they need a situation in which a new coach comes in and it's a purge.
