I'm biased re Munchak; I got to know him a little from his time in Houston (with the Oilers). It's hard not to like him: He's easy-going and has a very good sense of humor (that is seldom on public display). But it was interesting to hear BR say how much the players like him and would hate to see him go...
Art II has his work cut out for him. Good luck.
Troy got involved with an investment company and has done well after retirement. He's still in Pittsburgh but does philanthropy with his wife who runs his various charities. He's said he was disappointed how his retirement occurred, but has no ill will to the club. He does a lot of family/charity work and he tweets about movies (like Hines Ward) routinely. He's also involved with the new AAF League (as is Hines) and is their Director of Player Relations. Hines Ward is the Director of Football Development.
How do you think he will deal with the elephant in the room tomorrow:
A. Address it briefly and vaguely and shut down all questions saying he has already spoke to it.
B. Say he is not answering questions, it's in house.
C. Take it on head on and admit the team needs to have a culture shift and he bears responsibility for part of that.
I'm going with A. Vague and brief.
How about
D. "We're in the business of winning football games, and obviously missing 84 was a non-issue...we left the stadium with a positive result. Antonio is a competitor, and typically above the line above the neck...he'll understand that this was a teachable moment. When it's time for the next man up, we don't live in our fears...the standard is the standard. Missing the playoffs was disappointing, obviously, but it is what is is...we're not going to make excuses. We're excited to get back to the lab and use this season as a learning experience...now we know about ourselves."
Cowherd just kills me, it hurts to listen to him. He had Mark Schlereth on today and the only reason he has him regularly is because when he says his last name he sounds normal.
Cowherd is an idiot. His argument today was that the Steelers are inconsistent because they rely on so-called ‘star’ players, meanwhile the Patriots are a model of consistency because there are no stars there. What the **** does he consider Brady and Gronk?
Thing is, Munch was already at head coach once and had a slightly sub-.500 record.
True. But I don't think the Titans had the kind of talent the Steelers do, especially on offense.
Munchack was 2-1 against Tomlin with less talent to work with.
People were bitching about Troy the year BEFORE he left. "we held on to him too long" "he's lost a step" "often injured"This I knew. In fact, I can hardly wait for the AAF league to start. I was talking more about his departure from the Steelers. It looked fishy to me. Kind of like Tomlin crossed him off of the list and moved on. A guy like him deserves to be treated like royalty IMO. It just smelled bad.

So they move on from him, and now it's fishy. Time waits for no man, no matter how you have helped the franchise, when your play is no longer a positive in the field the business side of things rears its ugly head.
I loved Troy, but it was past time. If he wants to continue to avoid the steelers, that's his choice. But Tomlin made the correct choice, albeit a year too late Imo

I don't know how much input Munchak had on the drafting, but the Titans did not draft well during his time as HC either.

No idea on his input, either. My gut would say a 1st time 1st year HC would have some say, but not as much as he would after 3 or 4 years. I was assured by some here that Tomlin chose all of our picks from day 1, though.
Yep, I've come to the conclusion that Steeler fans may be some of the dumbest sports fans.I’m just amazed at the stupidity of some fans still finding a way to blame Ben for all this. Every comment section on an article I read, it’s Ben’s fault lol.

It's not all fans or just the fans, but some of the idiots in the Fan put ideas in listeners head I think. Like that *** clown Chris Mueller tried and tried to blame Ben for Riddley fumbling the ball, saying he should've audibled out of it. Bouchette, Clayton, Pomp, were all guests on his show and he asked them all if Ben should be to blame for that, and they all shut him down.I was listening to Cook yesterday. It was painful to listen to. Absolutely clueless and so many still living in the 70s. I wouldn't say they are the dumbest because I find most of the former players turned analysts to be more clueless.
Just watched the Rapoport video on the situation and he basically said AB yelled and was venting. Sounds like La Canfora got word of the story but was sure to word it in a way that would get more hits/reads while still not entirely falsifying about the situation.
LOL...Rappaport, LaCanfora.....their sources are player agents....not actual players or witnesses.
Dale Lolley was AT WED practice when AB supposedly blew up...He didn't see or hear AB say anything.
