good player, but

Browns signed CB Joe Haden to a five-year, $68 million contract extension through the 2019 season.

Somewhat coming out of nowhere to close the deal, the Browns have Haden locked up through his age-30 season.

Per PFT's Michael David Smith, the deal includes a $14 million signing bonus and $22 million fully guaranteed. Another $23 million is guaranteed for injury. All of the figures surpass Richard Sherman's deal, which is actually a year shorter in length. In terms of annual average, Sherman is still the highest-paid corner

He can grow old together with Joe Thomas and never see a playoff game

they have the cap room, what else are they gonna do with it? It's not like they have much talent to keep

Smart move for them. They need all the stability they can get with their few good players.

It is a solid deal, just that, its the browns!!! Are they putting together a splash?

Salute the nation

Hayden is not worth that money....AB last year against mostly Hayden, 15 rec, 179 yards, 1 td. I think Hayden is just a touch above Ike in his prime. Cleveland being Cleveland again IMO.

The fact that he "loves Cleveland" and wants to play there, that poor sap deserves to be well-off for the rest of his life. His chance for a ring is all but gone, so he might as well get paid.

They just signed more WR's - the Cowboy's Miles Austin and Earl Bennett from Chicago

Just like Woodley, Chris Johnson, James Harrison, DeMarcus Ware, Haynesworth, Nnamdi A, Santonio Holmes - and likely Mike Wallace - Hayden will never see the end of this deal and will be cut. Have to be a QB to get it all

i guess the silver lining for the steelers is their is no way one of our corners are thinking. " i need to make joe haden money" the corners we have will not make that combined.
