Bungles keeping Lewis

Marvin did a great job to lead that franchise out of the dumps, but he has maximized what he can get from that team. Now he has the dirtiest player in the game as the face of that franchise and has continually let the clowns on that team set the tone. They aren't going to be a threat as long as he's there, but we are going to have to watch more dirty games every time they face the Steelers.

If he had any discipline at all, they would've won at least one playoff game

Nice!!!!!!

Sorry but Marvin isn't the answer............................good for us bad for them. Bungles and I loved the way Myron Cope use to say the bungles.

Salute the nation

The bengals problem is ownership. They are cheap. They keep drafting all these thugs because they end up being bargains in the draft.

Their draft consists of 2 types of players
1. Thugs who are a 1st or 2nd round talent but available late because of off field issues.
2. Replacements for good players that they will let leave instead of paying them.

look at what they did the last few years at OT and WR. They had a solid pair of OTs with Smith and Whitworth, but they didn’t want to pay them so they drafted 2 OTs with their top 2 picks then let them walk. Same with WR. They had Sanu and Marvin Jones. Very good complements to AJ Green, but they let them walk to draft Tyler Boyd and John Ross.

looks great on paper, replace older, expensive vets with younger, cheaper players. That’s a great strategy provided the young guys prove to be better and only then do you part ways with the vet. But when you get rid of the vet and just assume the rookie is good enough, you run into problems.

The Bengals OL went to **** with the new OTs and they have no weapon other than AJ Green. Boyd might be a good slot guy in a few years, but so far he’s been disappointing. Ross has been injured and barely played.

when you draft like this you end up just treading water. You are just replacing guys, not building around them. The Benglas never build up, they stay the same.

I think that's why they keep Marvin too. He's the only HC who will work for what they pay and put up with Mike Brown's bullshit. And Marvin knows he will NEVER be fired as long as he is under contract because there's no way Brown is going to pay two HC's.

This is the opposite of the arguement of franchise stability. I mean he has been there for 15 years and has basically went through two pretty damn good teams to win nothing. Wow. What a ****** franchise. If the Ravens make a bad turn the Steelers could win this division by forfit.

As always ask yourself who's out there who would be better? The owner isn't going to relinquish control or spend more any time soon so the coach has limited impact on the roster. Players win football games, that and scouting, cough cough, film study.

The Bengals weren't going to pay to get anyone better. They will revert to what they were when Marvin is finally gone. Marvin probably has one more playoff loss in him before he finally retires.

This is why I can never be sure whether Marvin is a joke, or if he's worked a miracle to have made Cincy as decent as they've been under him. Brown is a worse owner than Nutting.

I ****** hate hairball and his wide eyed incredulous look. However he isnt in the same zip code as the other two. He always fields a good team. They **** the bed last week no doubt. But not even close.
