Multiple sites saying he was informed he would be released by April 1st. Do we do anything with the $$ saved or sit on it?

There isn't a whole lot out there to use the money on at this point. I'm sure they'll maybe bring in a low level TE though.
 
They could do some extensions for players like Hilton, Hargrave. Maybe bring Sensabaugh back. Wait and see additional players let go after the draft.
 
AB ****** us on this dead money issue. We're not going to be signing players in UFA like we thought prior to AB showing the world he has CTE. This is money for our draft class and then for any players who get cut down the road that we might be able to scoop up (think, hope and wish someone like a Haden)

Just getting rid of all of the rotten apples.
 
Guess we knew he was going but I sure would have tried to at least get a late round pick for him.

There's still better safeties available than him in free agency. He's below average, no way would someone trade for his contract.
 
Cap space for draft picks, especially if they use all 10.

I'll listen to offers. RIght now the Steelers can only afford young and cheap, and I'm neither.


The lack of value from Bell and Brown, combined with failing to see how broken down Burnett makes you wonder. I heard Art Rooney II is opposed to making changes in NFL replay. The advantage goes to the Patrios.


This offseason has really sucked so far. Colbert needs to knock it out of the park in the draft.

It started out slow, but picked up steam with three decent signings.
 
What about a guy like Ziggy Ansah? One would’ve thought he would’ve gotten a huge contract, much the same way the Zdarius Smith’s, and CJ Mosely’s of the world got. However, he still sits. Had dealt with the injury bug, but has been a damn good rusher when he’s on the field. Hell, he had 14.5 sacks two years ago. Now that we’re into that second and third phase of FA, what are the chances he takes a 1-2 year “prove it” deal, ala Bradley Roby, Tyrann Matthieu last year and a few others? Him and Durpee could certainly solidify one side. Especially if they wanna have Bud cover more and more skill players.

We'd probably have to toss in at least a 2nd.

He needs to go and take that other waste of a draft pick Burns with gim
