Butler doesn’t care what you think

The problem is that you could flip all of those stats for the other 3 quarters. So you're blaming the offense for building a lead headed into the 4th qtr but not the defense for not holding the lead? If you look at the other 3 qtrs. then you'll see the offense having horrible field position and the defense having great field position.

Then your stats get difficult. Are you talking about just the 4th qtr. when you mention the 2008 defense? You said the offense ranked 3rd in TOP per drive. But is that just the 4th qtr? 10th in scoring? Just the 4th?

and how often was the offense just sent out there to try to kill time, not necessarily score? I'm sure we were in conservative mode enough of the time.

The words of a man who doesn't give a **** anymore. Guaranteed Butler knows two things: 1) It's not his defense he's running and 2) He won't be fired, they'll just let his contract run out like they did with everyone else.

I'm picturing a "The Standard is the Standard" sign in the post office.

After Shades made the Blake Bortles offense look like the 1984 SF 49ers in the playoff debacle, Jim Wexell wrote that "Tomlin won't fire Butler...because he would be firing himself."

Wex adores Mike Tomlin as a man and as a HC. Referred to him as "the most intellectual coach I have ever been around." If he said that about Tomlin's level of involvement with the D, it may as well have been EF Hutton saying it.

Did you know that blake Bortles had better stats against the *'s the next week?

Did you know that the pats*** lost the turnover battle and still won the game? Did you know that Jax had the ball with 2:48 left in the game after the pats**** scored to take the lead. Their defense actually stopped them from even getting close to the endzone. They turned the ball over on downs at the pats**** 43 yard line. Lots of things about that game people can learn from.

I did. But it was irrelevant to the poster's comments.

The fact is with 2+ turnovers by the O, you have the odds stacked against you. Especially so when those turnovers lead directly to points, either by a TD return or so deep in your end of the field, at least a FG is all but guaranteed.

*'s are cheating sacks of ****. The only thing you can learn from them is that. Anyone can snog their balls all they want, but ut is what it is

I'm sure the majority of those teams that turned the ball over twice, didn't score 42 points.
The fact is when you score 42 points by the O, you have the odds very much in your favor of winning the game.

The fact is when your defense gives up 35 points (after subtracting 10 for turnovers) the odds are very much stacked against you.

When you give up 10 on Offense the game is already stacked against you.

Either way, when you O scores 42 and your D allows 35, ypu should win the game. Giving them 10 points killed us just as much as allowing 35.

Nor does ANY of that have anything to do with what i posted regarding Bortles stats.

I guess i should also point out that, IIRC, we scored that last TD with little to no time on the clock. Does Jax play tougher D if we are within tying the game vs. Scoring with no time on the clock?

Our offense put up 500+yards and scored 42 points turned the ball over twice
Our defense gave up 35 points and forced 0 turnovers
The defense is taking the majority of the blame for that loss.

Yes, but he put up 10 points on the Bills the very week before he played against Shades and his merry band of road cones.

This wasn't an offensive juggernaut coming in to Heinz to face a primed and rested Steelers team.

Bortles is pretty much out of the league now he was so bad. But we were afraid to kick to him with the game on the line.

My point was he was able to put up better stats against the "greatest evar!!" so "looking like Joe Montana" or a "HoFer" or yours is a ridiculous statement.

it was 100% a team loss. The offense ****** up, the Defense ****** up and the coaching ****** you. You dislike anything that might throw some blame at Ben so will refuse to admit anything otherwise.

As you with Tomlin and since it's his defense, you refuse to put the majority of the blame on them, but I'll blame Ben when he plays bad or makes ****** throws, but he threw for 5 TD's 400+ yards on the best defense in the NFL, this isn't one of those times. This is like trying to blame the defense for the game we lost in Cleveland 13-10, the defense played great but they gave up two plays that resulted in points, I'm pretty sure no one is trying to pin that on the defense, just like I don't see how anyone is pinning that loss on the offense.

We made him look better than the Blake Bortles who couldn't even hold the job.

Without looking, I'm pretty sure that giving up 45 at home is the most since pre-Noll era or at least on the shortlist of worst home defensive performances regular season or playoffs. Definitely uncharted waters to surrender 45 at home in a playoff game.

Maybe that wasn't Joe Montana or Roger Craig on the other side, but it was a humiliating loss and defensive failure to end the second straight season.

I'm just not sure how to put lipstick on it, but it the Pats narrowly winning the next week makes people feel better, so be it.

You'd be right if i hadn't also blamed the defense and coaching. You did see where i blamed the whole team, right?

I'm sure you did but the "no blame on Ben" blinders won't let you see it.

yeah you say the whole team, I didn't miss that part, but your Tomlin blinders are obviously missing that the offense destroyed their defense, scored 25 points more than what they were giving up, while the defense gave up way more points than their offense was scoring, even without the two turnovers.
You can't say the defense was ****** and was the biggest reason we lost.
