I read from one of the Steelers sites that Cam is calling it quits. I think it is fake news, which has become so common these days. Anyone else hear anything one way or the other? I'll keep looking as well.

I believe his contract is done. If it isn't release him and he should go to a championship contender. He has another year in him but probably less snaps and don't bother have ut here. Its rebuild time.

I think k ‘26 is his last year.

Play him out or restructure to cap friendlier cut.

I didn't see anything and would be surprised. He still played at a high level. I could see him asking for a trade/release with Tomlin gone to have the chance to go to a contender.

I don’t think he draws much attention, maybe a 5th at best but more likely a 6th.

EDIT: I might approach him in a restructure 2yr, lower his cost and use as strong depth.

He bitched about his salary last year. He'll be nothing but a fight. Tell him to find a team who will pay his asking and grab what you can. He can still play but he won't be any part of what needs to be done.

People can say whatever they want about Heyward, but he is one of the best defensive linemen to ever wear our colors. He is a borderline HoFer. I wouldn’t mind having him back next year to maybe solidify his HoF credentials. He can still bring it and would still be an asset on the line.

Atleast Cam won 1 playoff game in his career. More than TJ can say to this point. Cam deserved better but he loved Tomlin and he chose friendship over winning. Just don’t ***** about lack of playoff success, it’s his own fault.

His 2nd team all pro this year wrapped it up. He is in. Maybe not first ballot but he will make it.

If I'm reading this correctly, he's got a $13M roster bonus that will trigger in the new league year, if he sounds at all wishy-washy now that Tomlin is gone, or starts hinting at wanting more money, cut bait and thank him for his service.

There's a new staff coming in, not sure we want a bunch of Tomlin loyalists hanging around telling them "this is how we do things around here".

Bye Cam, I would try and trade for Jalen Carter and sign him long term. Harmon and Carter would be a tough front 2 for a few years.

TJ Watt is only a post June 1st trade option in all realisty.

Ramsey and Heyward are likely just cap casualties IF we need the cap space. And without a QB on the roster right now sucking up big time money, I'm not sure what we need the cap space for. That could change as the off-season progresses and we have some guys likely worth giving money too (Porter, Jones), but those decisions will be somewhat impacted by new coach and new plan (if any).

I think Metcalf is here for 3 more years. I don't see any reason to trade him. Whatever QB we get, even going into "Project 2027", will need a guy to throw to and Metcalf offers something on that front. Highsmith is the same thing. We need a body. He's suitable. Expensive but not crazy expensive to worry about at this point.

That's all the expensive guys worth talking about. The rest of the roster is cheap and not really extended much past 2028.

As far as legacy goes TJ is levels above Cam. Not remotely close.

He's the second best interior DL of his generation. He's going to the HOF. If he was going to play for reasonable......sure. He will not. And he deserves to play for a contender.
