Can you imagine if last year instead of drafting KP we picked...

I don't know about that...

Sorry berm, we have to many other needs to waste a QB pick in the third. It’s a deep class and there will be starter materials at one of our needs there in 3.

I don't want Willis at all. Just don't think he got a fair shake in Nashville...

I'm with you. The LUXURY S10 will entertain you till you nearly **** your pants, but no fear as we have diapers available.

What if the steelers drafted Linderbaum instead of Picket in rd 1 and then Brock Purdy instead of Oladukan in Rd 7?

Yeah, the "what if" game never ends. However, I will say that all the Purdy love in 2022 ignored a lot of issues in his game. His arm strength is not great; he is kinda mobile, but not elusive; he played behind a great offensive line, superb running game and with George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and an emerging Brandon Aiyuk as contributors.

Jimmy Garrapolo posted a 103 QB rating with 16 TD's and 4 picks with that offense. Do you think Garrapolo is that good? Or maybe an "ehh" QB playing behind that line, with that running game, and with those skill players can do much better than expected.

maybe he could play TE to help with the Jet Sweeps

Side bonus: Then we wouldn’t have to draft a TE in the first…………….

Special Note: Don’t make short on the “JET” sweeps, 1 out of 3 will actually gain 2-5 yards on a 3rd and six down.

i don’t think Purdy or Garapolo are special, Your description of Purdy sounds a lot like Kenny. How much was Kenny asked to do last year?

Kenny had a fine season for a rookie but if his second season is similar, we have problems.

What if the Steelers took Linderbaum at C added to Cole and Daniels at G and that solidified the OL from week 1, then Mitch goes out there and performs well behind a good OL?

I just think it’s a bit early to think Kenny is a star.

What I love about this offseason is the Steelers vastly improving the offense. This means by the end of year 3 at the latest we will know if Kenny is worth a big contract. The worst case is being like the Giants. They just had to give Daniel Jones a big contract based on limited info. The Giants OL and WRs have been so bad that it’s still unknown if Jones is a franchise QB. He showed flashes last year with a good coach and decent weapons so the Giants had to gamble.

I just wish the Steelers fired Canada. If the offense struggles again this year and they fire him then you have somewhat wasted 2 years of Kenny’s development.

Kenny is bigger, faster, with better arm strength. 6'3", 225 lbs., 4.67 40, 33" vertical, 233 rushing yards, 3 TD.

Purdy 6'1", 220 lbs., 4.84 40, 27" vertical, 23 rushing yards.

So the two are not equal in terms of tools.

Of course. If players don't improve from rookie season onward, that is never a good thing.

So do we have any reason to believe Kenny improves? Yeah. He was thrown into the starting role without any prep time vs. Jets, struggled first 4 games. 3 TD's, 8 picks. Bad. He was a ton better after the bye - just 1 more pick thrown. That shows he gets better with experience and time to improve.

Mitch is Mitch. He's a pretty good backup QB given his mobility, experience, decent arm strength.

I just think it’s a bit early to think Kenny is a star.

I don't think I called him a star. I simply pointed out that the Brock Purdy knob-polishing was pretty dumb, for a lot of very specific, demonstrable reasons.

I think the Steelers upgrade OT, and if they are smart grab Darnell Washington at 32 and we know THIS YEAR how good Kenny is.

Agreed. But Kenny is a football player. He is going to be good this year. You watch.

We'd have a long-term answer at center and probably wouldn't have signed Herbig for OL depth. Trubisky would've led the Steelers to a 7-9 win season and Purdy would be stepping in as the No. 2 with no real future on the team. Now we'd be arguing whether Khan should trade up for a falling Levis or Richardson or hope on falls while others would say they both suck and we should trade back for Hooker. Basically, the franchise would be treading water.

What IF the Steelers drafted Dan Marino instead of Senor Sack? What IF the Steelers drafted Creed instead of Muth?
What if the Steelers drafted Jerome McDougle instead of Troy? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

yeah, i have two buddies in Nashville. Apparently the "new" regime doesnt buy into Malik at all. I'd not be surprised if he gets traded or cut after this season.
Weird thing is, while I definitely didnt want him as a Steeler, I don't think the **** are giving him a fair shot.

fair shot?? Sheeeeeyuuuuut! That dude would take damn near a decade to competent enough to NOT be a disaster as a starter, he sucks!

I was laughing away UNTI I got to TROY,….. I realized we don’t know the “combine stat” for McDougle’s head……size

KP is doing what he needs to do this offseason to improve himself. He is very impressive with his work ethic. The biggest factor still this year will be Canaduh. He screwed things up for Ben's final season and was no better as an OC last year. If he is the same this year, we have problems. Open up the entire playbook. Throw in the middle of the field. Throw deep. Have a full no-huddle offense and a 2-minute offense. No excuses for Canaduh this year. If nothing has changed and we are 6 games in, I fire him. I know Rooney won't do it but it will be even more painfully obvious by then if he can be an NFL OC or not.

I'd feel much better going into the season if the Steelers had an NFL-level offensive coordinator.

I think we all would. Canaduh should have been fired the day the season ended.
Nah, we are probably trying to get them to build a new Stadium over in South Park… thats why this year the theme song can be “ Blame Canada” and cries of OMG they killed Kenny will ring out across steelers nation if we ignore the Oline in yet another draft lol

Its a brilliant marketing ploy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
We are probably trying to get sponsored by Comedy Central and earning that endorsement over the Browns takes serious commitment to comical blundering

The problem is, does O’Canada have a full play book.

I mean, think about it….. HOF QB and nothing, till crunch time and BEN took over.

Now we are hoping O’Canada can call a decent game and improved offensive plays…………

I’m all for the improvement and HOPE like heck the “O’Canada” syndrome doesn’t curtail us.
