Carolina VS New Orleans Thread

Does Newton wear shin guards? I’ve never seen that before. Kinda soft, especially for a QB.

Newton and his theatrics, we have come to expect it every time it goes bad for him. His post game if he is able to walk on stage will be another piece of work.

Newton is a complete clutz as QB in crunch time. He had plenty of time, all he had to do is chip his way down towards the goal line and set himself up close for the winning TD, instead he tries low percentage long passes that either fall incomplete or allow the pass rush to get to him.

You can't chip your way down the field with no timeouts. You have to get some chunk plays. On the two sacks, the rush was on him immediately. If the kicker doesn't miss the chip shot, it's likely a different outcome. Regardless, I think Atlanta is going back to the Super Bowl.

You can if you have enough time on the clock and you're already down in Saints territory. You have the extra down and can spike if needed. No need to keep throwing long passes into the endzone.

In all fairness, how else was he supposed to be tackled when he was bent over and his head was two and a half feet off the ground.

Think he was higher than that but my point being if that was any of the select QBs in the circle of trust flags would have rained down from the sky. People like cam, Ben, and on,....you can gang rape them without a second look.

Personaly, Id like to know how he got back in the game? Dude was trying to shake out the cobwebs with "non normal" blinking, and then can walk to his sideline without taking a knee to the ground? I dont get that. Sure seems like a concussion symptom.

Rivera said he was poked in the eye

I didn't see the game but was listening on the radio. The announcers said he started walking to the sideline and stopped and the training staff came out to attend to him. This also gave Anderson a bit of time to warm up.

They also said he went to the injury tent and passed his concussion protocol test. They made it sound like he was laughing when coming off the field and didn't think his injury was bad.

For what it's worth this was the Carolina broadcast.
