Case made for Mason & QB Room——— (not beer)

I see his point. Rodgers gives us the best chance to win this year. Rudolph gives us the best chance to develop Howard and Allar. As a franchise it’s hard to tell your fanbase that Rudolph is your starter so I get the push for Aaron. You have to sell tickets and apparrell and Rudolph isn’t going to do that.

If Howard’s development was coming along well, there wouldn’t have been an Allar selection, at least not in the third. That pick didn’t hint at value, it screamed reach. If Howard was a serviceable backup and they were high on Allar, Rudolph would’ve been dealt pre-draft. A little bit of critical thinking led to the conclusion that they were throwing darts. Regardless of Rodgers’ future decision, it’s still FUBAR.
I think Allars value greatly fluctuated from one team to another. If you watch him at the combine and knew nothing about him you would have thought top 5 pick. If you don’t watch the 2025 tape you think first round or second rounds. If you watch 2025 you probably think day 3 pick. Personally, I think the value was there at 76. But if you don’t where was his value? 90? 100? 120? If you look at the draft pick value chart from 76 to 120 and the value from 32 to 76 there’s not a huge difference between 120 and 76 comparatively speaking.

I don’t think Allar would have lasted to our next pick.

We got him at a perfect spot for a QB that appears to need some developement.

We may be surprised as he may up-seat Howard through camp, possibly Mason as well.

The high ceiling is there, it comes down to how fast he can adapt which I think is fairly mappable.

MM is a good qaulity QB coach who should get the best out of him.

Having Rodgers sign for the year will be the biggest thing holding him back.

I think Rudy will be traded if Aaron returns. I have him as the odd man out.

Not really dependent on him tutoring either QB and his play is suspect at this point.

Yep. A QB like Rudolph or basically any other non-future HOFer you can start and then bench. If Rodgers is here, he's starting 17 games as long as he's healthy.

I’ve seen the McCoy-Johnson-Jones chart many times. Somewhere in the fourth, that’s where I think Allar should’ve landed. The chart’s purpose is primarily for trade compensation. If my memory serves me, the next QB taken was Klubnik followed by Payton and then Green. Klubnik’s college career arc is similar to Allar’s story. If it works out, great. If it doesn't and a guy like Haulcy ends up a solid starter, oomph, well, ok. We can pontificate on this crap forever but in the end, time will tell.

Of course it isn't like he is making $50 mill or even $40 mill...or even $30 mill.......or even $20 mill.......benching a Rodgers if the season is going South might be easier than one might actually think....that is if you have a real HC. 🤔

So a 3rd round selection from a 4th round really wasn't that much of a reach. Especially if you don't think he would be there when your 4th round pick comes up. No?

I don’t know. That’s a whole lot of hypothetical but, ok. You could’ve possibly ate your cake and had it too. We’ll never know. It’s like how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop.

I have to add in that we need to remember that we had 3-3rd round picks……….. that make’s it easier for the Allar pick.

You didn’t give up a 3rd for him, you gave 1 of 3 3rd round picks for him…………

I bet you do. Now take a look inside that crystal ball of yours and tell me the numbers for the mega millions drawing for this evening.

I’ve seen the center of the tootsie pop many times. Somewhere between 2 and 4 should’ve landed. If my memory serves me, the next lick would be 4, 5 and 6. I can pontificate on this crap forever but in the end, time will tell.

But in the end, i measure the circumpherence of the toosie pop and it tells me everything i need to know.
