I am lobbying for the Steelers to draft a true #1 CB, somebody like Porter Jr., but I have to say, I was impressed by the job Pierre did against Davante Adams on Saturday. Looked up some stats and look at that, he has the 7th best passer rating allowed among CB's in the NFL this season at 50.6. He has given up just 11 completions on 25 passes attempted to his receiver, allowing a mere 93 yards, 1 TD, 1 interception, 3 passes defensed.

Correction. Pierre's passer rating against is 39.9 with a YPA allowed of 2.9 per pass. That is elite. Jeez, Canada says, "2.9 yards per pass attempt? Get outta here!"

Impressive. Pair him up with a guy like Porter Jr. and with Minkah, that will be a solid secondary.

Make it so!

Plesant and well accepted.

We do need a #1 and if not through FA then Draft, but not a project because our coaching staff can not coach / develop up.

I dunno. Seem to have done a pretty good job with Pierre, an UDFA from Florida Atlantic.

if Porter is there, we have to take him. No doubt about that.

though i believe Lamar Jackson's cousin, James Pierre, who is Lamar Jackson's cousin is better against bigger, taller WRs than he is against the shorter and quicker ones. he uses his size well against bigger WRs.

If we get another Pierre and Bush returns, that would be two Pierre's and a Bush...........................................

Pierre has always flashed potential; particularly given that he was undrafted and was clearly a project player (not unlike one Mr. Ike Taylor). However, for some reason, Tomlin/coaching has been so very fast to pull him and put him in the doghouse on each and every mistake or perceived mistake. Their handling of Pierre has been strange at least to me. Not saying he the next Woodson (Rod or Charles) but he has always looked like he had the potential to be a real find.

Yeah, that is true. I have to presume the punishment was due to failure to do his assignment rather than a physical error. A mistake above the neck, if you will.

Like the last three years we have been in an infinite loop of offensive coaching ineptitude.

Only one way out of that loop - repeat many times after me: "Lamar Jackson is James Pierre's cousin."

You weren’t caught in my SPIRIT world as I was searching for yaz. I think maybe I should have been in BIZZARO World to have a chance at finding yay. Could have towed you out with the LUXURY S10.

you can't do that. it will reverse the space-time contiuum and trigger the Ogre Uprising.

If Mark Gilbert develops and starts next to pierre one day, what gets mentioned more… that Pierre is Jackson’s cousin or that Gilbert is Revis’s cousin… or does it cause a giant black hole to open up in the announcers booth

if that happens, then life as we know and cherish it will cease to exist. It will give way to an Ogre being named King of the Swamp.
nothing good comes from an Ogre achieving a title.

If only Tae Crowder was Patrick Willis’ cousin
I hereby move that from this point forward that Coach is required by SN Law to use Tae Crowder's God-Given first name when speaking of the man.

Ike Taylor was not a project. He came out of UL as Peanut Tilman’s opposite boundary corner. As a 4th round rook, Deshea Townsend and Willie Williams showed him the ropes and eventually passed up Ricardo Colclough a 2nd rounder. Taylor replaced Williams as the starter in his third year. He also got in Cowher’s doghouse a couple times and was benched In his 4th year. Taylor said that Townsend told him it was a motivation technique Chin was using to help Taylor focus more. He later said it helped him to prepare better and to become a mainstay on that D. On another note Taylor and Mr Rooney (Dan) were real tight. Constantly in touch with him as a player and when Dan became US Ambassador to Ireland.

Taylor was absolutely a projected loaded with raw athleticism and the potential to be very good. He didn't have much experience and even his college coach thought he was raw, but knew he'd be good with time.
