There are so many people that think its stupid but are afraid to raise their voice and call it so, for fear of being shamed by a very small, loud minority. So they sit on their hands, vote with the collective, and let their communities continue to devolve into governing meaningless drivel.
This is how government gets bigger. This is how is starts. Seemingly minor "referendums and laws" get piled on and on and on, until government is so cumbersome only a select few can "manage" it, thus creating the politburo, the governing class.
We already see it in Washington. Every outsider is now corrupt because they can't separate their real world duties from service. You HAVE to be a career politician to eliminate any chance of influence. That's basically the platform Elizabeth Warren is running on. She grilled a guy on Capital Hill this week for that exact thing.
This is how is starts. This is how it perpetuates itself. This is how the politburo holds power.

If that’s the guy who came up with the idea of banning the term owners, then he doesn’t think it’s a good or necessary step either. So many of these nonsense liberal ideas are just put forth to enhance the person’s own image.
We we have gotten to a point where any lunatic idea is treated like valid argument. That’s because in today’s social media world, you no longer have to accomplish something great to get famous.
