City Bans Gender Words Like Manhole

Straight out of Orwell. Control the language control the thoughts.

Awesome... we are one step closer to the overlords conquering the country with mean words and a sharp spoon....

I quit following NBA years ago when it became obvious most players would rather have a shoe commercial than win a championship.

I never did follow the NBA. Pittsburgh does not have an NBA team, therefore the NBA is irrelevant.

Oh they go beyond language control. When them dimwits in Berkley grab hold of an issue, they really commit to it.

Berkeley bans shields, smoke canisters for Ben Shapiro’s UC Berkeley speech
September 14, 2017

Berkeley released two lists of items Wednesday that will be temporarily banned from public parks and a large portion of the city in anticipation of right-wing commentator Ben Shapiro’s speech at UC Berkeley on Thursday.

Billy clubs, torches and flags or signs mounted on poles not attached to a building are banned throughout the area of the city bordered west to east by Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Piedmont Avenue and bordered south to north by Dwight Way and Cedar Street. Additionally, in Ohlone Park, Willard Park and Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park, metal pipes, smoke canisters and baseball bats are also banned.

In each of the three parks, masks or bandanas that hide the face will be prohibited
aside from coverings worn for religious beliefs. Both lists ban shields, poles, torches, fireworks and pepper spray, as well as other “implements of riot.”

“These rules are intended to assist those wishing to peaceably express their First Amendment Rights,” wrote city manager Dee Williams-Ridley.

Berkeley mask ban violates city ordinance

The Berkeley police and city manager released a set of rules prior to the anti-fascist protest on Sunday. There is a clause banning masks in Ohlone Park and Civic Center Park. This clause violates the urgency ordinance passed by city council.

There was a special city council meeting back on July 31, for an urgency ordinance allowing the city manager and police to set rules for the upcoming protest. During the meeting, it was stated that the city manager and city attorney were not going to ban face masks or coverings. Council member Kate Harrison emphasized that such a ban would violate civil rights, and asked for special language in the ordinance that made it clear that facial coverings would not be prohibited.

Mayor Jesse Arreguin re-clarified that the city manager and the chief of police had no intention to enforce a ban facial coverings. The mayor and council agreed to a clause saying the ordinance's authorization would not extend to prohibitions on facial coverings or other clothing. This language was put under section 13.45.020. There was no objection by any council member, any staff member, or by anyone representing the police to the addition of such a statement.

If we were told about this policy and asked to guess which city came up with it, I think we'd all pick Berkeley. Such a joke of a place.

I wonder if they will demand hurricane be changed to him-icane.

What about manatees? Humanatees? Hmm, likely to be confused with humanities. Peopletees?

And mangroves? How about "persongrove"?

Mana? As is, "mana from heaven"? Womana? Persana?

Manchester, England - that can't go on. "Humanchester"?

And again in England - the Isle of Man? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. "Isle of Human" or "Isle of People" or "Isle of Cisgender."

Just a start. This **** is endless.

The NBA banned the term Owner. They will now call team owners Governors.

This is how crazy things have gotten. Nobody thinks that's a good idea. Everybody who says they do is lying to score PC points.

Lol
