Claypool With Interesting Comments

Just heard Claypool make some revealing comments on 93.7 The Fan.

“Wish we could throw more go routes, more deep balls. We have the skill players in me,George and DJ so don’t know why we don’t do more”
“I’m not saying it’s the playcalling but wish we would call more PF those plays”.
He's not saying it's the play calling, it's just the calling of the plays. lol

Even if they did something exotic, like some FRIGGIN' PLAY ACTION?????
Play action works best when there's a threat of a good running game. The Steelers don't have that.

In my opinion, they need to use the pass more on early downs to set up the run, not the other way around.

Zactly.
Even if you did believe that they have to run on 1st downs, the actual performance on those plays is so dismal that any strategist is forced to consider the alternatives. I mean its not like the running attack is "almost there" or anywhere close.

its kinda ****** up to see Juju having gone from a "Who?" to being a damn good WR.
absolutely can't be the scheme
nor the coaching
must be something else
maybe its the BBQ in KC that got Juju to be who we thought he was
absolutely can't be the coaching or scheme here. no way.

Smith-Schuster:

2021: Yards per target 4.6
2022: Yards per target 10.3

Steelers need to get some of that damn fine BBQ.

Have you watched Addison at usc this season?
It might be the other way around..

I think

Yeah, agreed that Addison is a hell of a receiver. But Pickett took advantage and hit him on deep throws numerous times.

Right, but every DC in the league knows that the first play we run EVERY GAME is a run up the middle. If we really stretched the levels of insanity and did a play action instead, we would make it to the sb

Interesting comments which leads me to think there’s dissatisfaction in that locker room among the receivers.
On another note Claypuff gets a deep throw in the first half and trips over his own feet and the ball gets intercepted.
Someone tell him that his quarterback just had a concussion because guys are constantly in his face and now he wants him to sit back there till he gets open deep? Get open where you're sent and catch the damn ball when it comes your way, start there and then you can talk. And do it all game not just in the last minutes of the 4th in desperation time.

Or at least maybe gain more than one yard.
