Claypool's Comments

Lol that's funny...
"Attitude is fine" (self explanatory)
"Just prove it" (self explanatory)
"for God sake stay in your feet making a catch rather than stumbling all over. Sorry I can see where the word "in" as apposed to on could have caused you a major issue there.
TikTok has nothing to do with W & L...(self explanatory again) W&L is for wins and losses...
Not sure "for God sake" is the proper expression. Is your s key sticking?

He may be in the top three... for dropping balls and running his jaw. Here is guy that dropped how many balls in key situations, did he catch three percent of balls where he actually took it away from defender. Tic tic tok he has played the game of zero discipline running off at the jaw, hitting on Ben proclaiming what a great receiver he is bla bla bla.. Now he feels our offense will be so much better with a mobile QB...It still does not cause receivers having separation and Claypool is in the top three of not doing that. Another receiver that should be in the top five with his size but he has not proven he is there yet to anyone but himself.

Well he is in the top 3 receivers on the Steelers at least
For now. I have a feeling Pickens and Austin will be better than Claypool sooner than later.

So he's a top 3 NFL receiver and predicts we will win 13 games? Some football culture Tomlin has created he with with Bell, Byant, and Brown. You know the me first, team 15th type of players. Sorry Claypool you still have a ways to go before reaching the status...and in general they weren't stupid like this after their second season.

Confidence is fine. Saying you believe you're a top receiver without proving you are anywhere near a top receiver on the field is just a lot of hot air. I'd rather hear him say he strives to be one of the top guys in the league because there are at least 20 receivers I could probably name off the top of my head I'd rather have.

Claypool who? We've been down this road before..What is it with WRs?

To paraphrase Eli Wallach in The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly "When you have to play, play, don't talk".

Awesome movie...Just replace play with shoot. Saul good though either way.

I've seen / heard many a big mouths,............. I just hope Claypool isn't one of them.

PLAY on the field will be the tell tail so he needs to back it up.!!!!!!

Hey Claypool...talk is cheap.

Was there any reports of this type behaivor while as ND ?

We talk about the 70's STEELERS and accountability, imagine Chase on that team...... not able to play as durring practice several defensive players took him out to shut his mouth.

Todays NFL is all about me 1st and team later. Self proclaim greatness while living large. Add in the Tic toc effort and there you have it.

I roconize I'm a "dinosaur" fan and real football ha slong left. I'm probably not the demographic the NFL is seeking but I can still voice my opinion of players / cheating / coaching / failures / GREED MACHINE and many other things invovlved in football .

Team over self is the game to me. Really it's why I coach. At my level at least it seems to be the last thing in society where people will simply do what they're told and try to function with a shared goal. Now I'm not naive. I understand the money part. But to me when the money part is taken care of the player should function like he did when he played JV. With team over self.

How, exactly, do you make this assessment??? Claypool's comments --> football culture that Tomlin has created w/ Bell, Bryant & Brown???

Waiting.

Confidence is one thing, brash cockiness is another. His statement contained both in one quick soundbite:

I’m gonna be better this year.
Good to hear. That tells everyone listening that you plan on working hard on your craft. And that you've learned how to give the ref the ball in crucial last minute situations instead of celebrating first downs.

I know for a fact, I’m not like the rest of the guys in the NFL.
That could be interpreted in so many ways.

I’m a top-five receiver. I know I’m a top-three receiver.
That's where he's setting himself up for potential problems down the road. Too many good-to-great WRs in the league right now to even think about making a claim like that. Shoot, it may even provide an impetus for opposing DBs to focus a little extra, umm, physicality in his direction ("OK, top 3, see what you got")

Barry Sanders, Larry Fitzgerald.... guys like that are rare these days. DIC is right, many of us longtime fans are "boomers" in the eyes of current players and the league.

Chase: time to put up or shut up.

Why do other head coaches not have this problem to the extent of that Tomlin does? The best coaches do not tolerate that many distractions. That's what I'm saying. Keep your business in house, or to yourself. Don't say stupid statements that make yourself and the team a target. This has been a re-occuring distraction under Tomlin since the last time we won a playoff game.

Waiting for you to reply.

How do you or any fan KNOW what HC's deal with??? You are only privy to what is shared in the media - whether that be a report or social.

Your speculative comments don't even warrant a reply but, eh, it's offseason...

I am saying that Tomlin has more diva types than other head coaches! It's a fact. I don't know what is said and neither do you, but I do know what is said and quoted in the media. In the past Tomlin has warned other players about posing stuff on social media, yet they still do it. If that bothers you, so be it. Try coming back with something real. You're waiting for me to reply, then you indicate it doesn't matter. Why bother to ask then?

Maybe your for these diva like players on the team? Are you a fan of them? We do have more than other teams do, maybe thats is the that he culture created..he allows this stuff to happen, like some teachers did when you were in school.

I'm not saying we have to be. But generally more so than a lot of other places. Look at Canadian NHL players compared to other pro athletes.

Hockey players are a different breed in general. The Stanley Cup Playoffs really define what a team is. You can't win with slackers or self centered diva legends in their own minds. Probably the most difficult trophy to win in all of pro sports. You must go above and beyond.

Name all of the divas on the current roster.

Waiting...

Agreed. A lot of players are small town people with smal town values.

His roster was full of them, Byant, Brown and Bell. If you want recent players well Claypool of course. What is is with these divas and why do we have so much experience with them in Pittsburgh? Why currently on the team? Is that your way of throwing out the trash and absolving Tomlin from blame? Yes-- I think it is. You cannot erase his history. This has been going for years, which is the last time we won a playoff game. Years, not only confined to who's currently on the team. Our list of Diva's outnumber other teams. Guys mouth off to the media, current and X steelers to the media. It wasn't that way before. We used to keep things in house. What happened to the culture?

Future un-happy campers and guys who might be complainers I think are Bush and the usually keep his mouth shut Johnson. We'll see how things develop with them. Not diva's yet though but guys who may mouth off when not getting their way. Notice I didn't say they are. I've seen enough from Claypool to say he is.

Waiting for you to admit the truth. I think I'll be waiting a while. Are we or are we not a team that has been full of diva's lately? Yes or No? You can't answer that question because it reflects poorly on Tomlin, I think. By the way diva players do not win Superbowls, and you wanted to sign one of them, Suh. What's up with that?

Looking forward to your reply.

So... after reading your mouth salad...I got this:

Claypool is the only diva on the roster. Fine.

Let's take a look at the Ravens.

Lamar and Marcus Peters. Definite divas. 2>1

How about your Browns???

Jadeveon Clowney, Baker Mayfield, Greedy Williams and Deshaun Watson. That's 4 which is twice as large as 2 which is 4 times greater than 1...

Now that we've give you real data to digest; currently, how is your statement relevant???

Bye bye now.
