Colbert not giving AB away for peanuts.

Tell him we will cut him or resign him to a cap friendly deal, there is no one that will pay this POS 9 million next year but Colbert doesn;t want to admit another 1st round bust under his watch.

Seems we took nothing for bell.

Agree. But Belll did the unthinkable and really unpredictable thing and sat out the hole year. I can’t remember another player doing that with such a large offer from a good team. The Steelers probably look at Bell saying “we have no idea what this dumbass will do and we can’t trust a word out of his mouth.” Not sure AB or any other player would be so bold (aka STUPID AS HELL).

They'd basically be conceding the 2019 season to a circus of drama and distraction. What good would come from repeating the **** we saw in 2018?

There's no way the Steelers can maintain the focus needed if Brown is still on the team this summer, especially with Tomlin's questionable leadership. If talking directly to Rooney did not improve things between Brown and the Steelers, nothing will.

Brown has to go, even if it means settling for less than fair value. I do not think it will come to that, as there will be enough interest from contending teams in need of a WR the caliber of Brown, but Brown being a Steeler next season is simply not an option.

I agree with all of this. What worries me about these two players is that they both pouted their way into new contracts. It sets a precedent for othe BABIES in the league. It would be so nice if it didn’t work out to their advantage (no real pay increase/bad new teams).

Colbert is also dumb enough to pay our awful OLB Dupree over 9 million this year, what a clusterfuck.

Didn’t Colbert learn anything from the Worilds fiasco?

I want to know. Did the Steelers ask Bell to sign his tender exchange for a trade or not? Did Rooney put the brakes on this idea?

This was my understanding of the leverage the Steelers could apply. Transition Tag which gave them the right to match the bloated offer he will receive on the open market. They do not want him on the team. They had no leverage. I will say this. Bell is a money *****. But when he gets his money he will perform and not be a problem.

Bell is a dumb MF'er. He will be suspended for drugs sometime during his 1st season back with his new found money.

I think Steelers realized that if they tag Bell, they will have cap money locked up at the beginning of free agency that might hinder signing someone they
want. I believe the Steelers intend to sign a couple of players the first two weeks of free agency.

I'm hoping that Brown and Bell prove to be isolated cases.

Most professional athletes are not as selfish and egotistical as those two. Hell, you could even though Bryant into the mix.

It's just a shame the Steelers had all that talent on offense and could not get one Superbowl appearance out of it.

Was it just bad luck to have a collection of such supremely talented head cases, or is there a broader cultural issue with the Steelers?

We'll probably never know.

I hope the POS doesnt hurt himself before we trade him March 17 to the Redskins or Giants.

Oh, nonsense! The Steelers didn’t lose to Denver and Oakland because of distraction. Nobody will be surprised if Brown no shows and not much will be left to be made of it. Everything gets old, this will too.

Either way, he's 20mil on our cap this year. Might as well make not having him on the field worth it.

That second article is hard to read, lotSA mistakes with in it.

I'd like to see BOTH those clowns end up on the jets team. PITTSBURGH is never going to offer $50mil gauranteed to leMEon, plain and simple.
