Colin Cowherd makes money and probably a lot of it by making controversial comments to rile up fan bases. Most of the comments have a grain of truth in them.
I have for 71 years been a Stillers fan so I am biased to them but for one second could we all take a break and "try" to look back on last season objectively?
We had a great but aging QB who still had fire in his belly hoping somehow to lead this team to a winning season with an inept young offensive line. An unproven center who was a rookie, guards and tackles that were suspect.
His RB Najee, way overperformed considering the line he was behind.
The receiving core tried but wasn't stellar, but how could they be? Big Ben had to dump the ball too quickly. Defenses weren't fooled and they knew the Ben they were playing against was running on empty.
Turning to the defense, losing 2/3 of your starting D line kills you. Heyward is a GIANT in my book but his supporting cast was suspect in many areas. TJ Watt is another monster but you need all 11 Defenders to play in sysnc and it just wasn't happening.
This year has so many unknowns.
The O line SHOULD be better just from a maturity standpoint. They went out and got an experienced and quite young Center and hopefully the other line acquisitions should help.
The QB situation is in a state of flux but at least the 3 QBs are more mobile (Please don't disappoint me Mason Rudolph).
Najee needs a helper to take the pressure off of him at RB please don't run the wheels off of this fine young man.
The receiving core can be solid if the QB has enough time to even set up a passing play.
Defensively I hope the D line is more solid. Heyward is not getting any younger. I hope Myles Jack can play solid, it will immensely help TJ and the secondary.
Minkah is a phenomenon BUT only one man. the other 3 or 4 need to step it up.
I will close by saying I hope and pray that Coach T keeps his word and lets his Asst Coaches, including Coach Flores (a class and smart guy tough as nails) make the calls on the field).
