Not sure how many college hoops fans there are here, but my wife is a huge Duke fan, and do they look good this year. Already beating #2 Michigan State last week, and now, coming back from 14 down with 6 minutes to play, to beat Texas in overtime, they sure look like a tough team to beat this year.

I follow it a little bit (mainly pitt), but they are terrible this year. They did play the last game tough but i think they will be lucky to hit 10 wins

Duke also came back from 17 down in the second half to beat #7 Florida. Their freshman forward is a legit NBA prospect and may be the top pick next year.

Can't figure out my Wolfpack. Lose by 30 to Notre Dame, then beat Duke. Also lost to powerhouse UNC Greensboro. Meh.

I'm still a Pitt fan even with their bad record of 8-14 overall, 0-9 conf. I don't get to see their games on TV that much and it seems like ESPN doesn't show their game highlights. If Pitt doesn't win 10 games I don't see Coach Homer Simpson surviving the off season.

I don't know what's up with Duke. They have one of the best rosters I've ever seen them have, and play down to their opponents. Especially in the ACC. They don't have the killer instinct to play the entire game. Right now this team just plays in runs.

Well I don't think Pitt will get to that 10 wins this season mark. They got thumped by UNC tonight 96-65.

I believe most college coaches should get at least four years with a program, but Stallings has to go. Terrible hire from the start. He completely destroyed a program that didn't need rebuilt but rather retooled.

Duke is the Steelers of College Basketball. All the talent in the world, and play down to their competition.

Sad part is no one really wants to Coach at Pitt. That's the big question why not? Plus if Pitt's AD fires Coach Homer Simpson who are they going to bring in there to turn things around and compete with the top Programs in the ACC? That Coach might think No way I'm going there, they whacked their Coach after two seasons and he's still under contract too?

Pitt is screwed. They have a vanilla coach that no good recruit will believe in and they paid him too much to coach there. It's a stepping stone for any young, up and comer until their dream gig is available. The program died when Dixon bolted.

Pitt always played good team ball, but never had that guy to get them over the hump. Also their style did not translate well to the ACC. I think they are going to have to retool the whole program to be competitive. New coach, new recruits, and hope to get lucky.

I'm fine with a guy that bolts because that likely means he did a good job turning the program into something.

Duke plays down to a sub 500 team and lose again. WTF. Does Tomlin coach Duke now?...

Well, in Jamie's case, he went to his dream gig. I'm OK with that, but it hurt the program and recruiting. They are crap now with no sunshine in sight. What is really said is they are the 3rd college team in the city. When was the last time that happened?

Not with Dixon but a young up-and-comer, but you're right about Dixon. He flirted with that job before and he probably saw the writing on the wall with Barnes and Pitt as well. Moving on from Dixon wasn't necessarily a bad move, the hire they made after him was. When's the last time you've seen a guy come in and outright destroy a program like Stallings? You don't go winless in your conference schedule as a part of rebuilding in college.

Stallings was the most uninspiring hire they could have made. Good basketball coach? Probably, but he is as exciting as white rice. Sure, it's food, but that is the extent of it. Bland and leaves you hungry again a hour later.
