College Football Playoff

Pitt Charlie was a good sport, class guy. Was gonna chat here last night but Iā€™m a lightweight drinker so I was buzzing and had pizza in the other hand and had the one year old baby snoozing in the back.

Chatted with Steeler4evr through text. Didnā€™t make it to midnight mountain time lol. I snoozed
 
Once more all the hype on the Big Ten and every year they deserve to be in play offs. They were lost from play one. All the hype on their two edge rushers were non existent. Herby even showed his Big Ten bias come the fourth period. They showed more shots of Hairball than they did of the winning coach. They finally scored and the Tv coverage was like Big Blue was winning. Was a laugher. Cincinnati showed more against Alabama than Michigan did against Georgia.

College sports doesn't have the same excitement it used to. There is still some buzz throughout the regular season, but bowl season has become irrelevant. Maybe there are some entertaining games, it's just the whole system limits great matchups with conference tie ins. The semifinals are blowouts more often than not. Even college basketball sucks now outside of March Madness.

Saturation, corporate sponsors will take away the essence or soul of anything. College sports are not immune to it.

Any product if given national exposure will become corporate driven which then becomes just another bolt in the machine. College, nfl, nhl, nba etc no league or brand in general is immune to it.

Yep, they are more worried about big TV contracts and advertising revenue that the spirit of the game is lost. We have the one-and-done rule in college basketball. Now there's the transfer portal, NIL deals, coaching contracts that are approaching 8 figures, coaching contracts that mean nothing, facilities races, and conference alignments that break up traditional rivalries.

College football is special because of the pageantry and the rivalry aspect of the game. We lose a little more of that each year and they've done such a great job of selling the revenue aspect of it to fans that large sections of fanbases are buying into it, yet attendance is dwindling.

Losing the pageantry etc is because of the fast lifestyle we have now. Everything is readily available through social media. As long as the revenue is made thatā€™s all that matters these days.


Iā€™m a UGA alum. I barely started donating to boosters in 2018-2019. Being a booster, I just want a good product that not just generates revenue but draws in potential students.

That and blame espn/disney for providing these contracts lol
 
Well here we are MTC awaiting the rematch ......... Bama vs Dawgs ...... hope it is a classic that goes down to the wire

Holliday plans have been altered so much this year , World Juniors cancelled ....... sure will be nice if something actually happens on schedule

Screw going down to the wire. I want the Dawgs to dominate. The Steelers and Pens shaved years off my life enough. I want a dominant win by UGA this time.

I tell you Cook out of Georgia had a good showing. Liked his pass catching ability. Might be a good mid round option at RB for the Steelers. Showed some good instincts and quicks. Plus he has the bloodline Steelers like.

These guys have pretty good breakdown videos. They are mainly analytics guys so a lot of it is based on numbers. I haven't watched this one though but I'll post it here for those interested.

 
All I know is Jordan Davis no.99 would look good in black&gold. I'm hoping the Bulldogs can slay this dragon.

I usually run the gauntlet with-in my spirit world. That is the ONLY true way to get things going and pending on out come,..... favorible results. Just remember the Gauntlet is bigger than football wins so be careful on the turns you take.
