College Football Week Zero
Yes, we have college football this weekend. No great matchups but a few big name teams in action. The bigger news is the off field stuff.
This offseason has been Nuts.
NFL players going back to college? Court ruled, yes, but then the Big 10 said they would not accept them. Of course, it's Lane Kiffin and LSU that is planning to bring in some of these NFL rejects. The SEC then followed the Big 10's lead and also plans to ban these players. Now more lawyers are planning to sue, so who knows what will ultimately happen.
I believe this is the last Week Zero. Next year, all teams will start on the same weekend.
Rule Changes for this year
Helmet radios are now legal for all divisions.
Each team is allowed 2 sponsor patches (I assume other than the jersey maker logo) on their jersey. Yay, more advertising.
Targeting - if a player gets a targeting call in the 2nd half, they are no longer suspended for the first half of the next game. But if they get a 2nd targeting foul within the season, it will carry over to the next game.
Offensive Pass Interference penalty is now 10 yards instead of 15
Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Automatic calls for any sort of gun gesture, throat slash, or nose wipe. Taking off helmet unless in TO. After the whistle actions like shoving or pulling guys off a plie.
Extra Replay Challenge - each coach gets 2 put if you are right on both, you get a 3rd and you must call a Timeout to challenge and you get it back if successful.
Now for the games

Belichick had a rocky season last year. Will he start to turn it around or will it be another **** show?

USC is a darkhorse contender for some. Qb Jayden Maiava is a Heisman candidate. They have to replace defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn who returned to his alma mater Penn State. Lincoln Riley has to be on the hotseat if USC isn't a serious playoff contender.
