College Football Week 1

Hoover and Indiana looked pretty good, I don’t care that it was North Texas.
 
I thought Boise State **** the bed by not making Oregon use their final TO, but they didn’t even need it, so that TD is on the defense.
 
Oregon comes out of the half and takes the lead by 7. Boise State is not going away though and just marched down the field and tied the game up 24-24

If it's past 7:24 am...................................... I don't think Coolie can reach that high...

Went to the Penn State game today. They looked pretty good all in all, but they have some stuff to work on.
Carson Hansen is no way the best RB on that roster. He looks slow, and doesn’t seem to read his blocks really well. Peoples wasn’t impressive either. Quinton Martin and Cam Wallace both looked better.

The offensive line looked great in pass protection, not so good run blocking.

The defensive secondary and linebackers looked sharp. Defensive line looked ok against the run, but didn’t generate much of a pass rush without blitzing.

Kobe Howard looks like he may be a stud. Eskildsen didn’t look like anything special and neither Bramer.

Becht was ok. He kept trying to find his boys from. ISU, and forced a couple to Eskildsen. His TD to Bramer was a nice pass.

I give them a B plus and consider the opponent. They beat the **** out of a team they should have beaten the **** out of. Lots of positives, a few negatives and a couple weeks to get it worked out. I’ll say this, if Franklin was still the HC, the game likely would’ve been a little tighter. Good start to the Campbell era. Hope they keep improving.

I’m sure he was sitting in a VIP section of some kind.

It would be pretty cool if he sat with the common fan, but I’m sure the common fan(s) would “Stampede him” to a pulp because of their excitement.

Glad he went to his college and supported them.

If that fumble by Dante Moore in the first overtime of the Whiteout had hit the ground at a different angle, and Penn State recovered, Franklin's entire legacy might have turned out differently. That loss broke his back and started an avalanche of shlt from which he and his team could not recover.

roast beef sub .... lots of storm damage lately in my area .........working stupid amount of hours putting hazardous trees down ..... sent the wife to Germany for a couple of weeks so just me and the cat, lots of work and football .... just got home at 10pm to catch LSU vs Clemson
 
Got a notice that my Aztecs are down 3-0. Turned it on just in time to see is throw an int. My luck holds true!
 
Very impressive start for Penn State. There’s stuff to work on but for game 1 with tons of new starters plus new schemes on offense and defense, it was pretty darn good.

I don’t care about the score. We saw a functional, modern, offensive scheme. The routes stretched the field horizontal and vertically. There were real options for the QB. The run blocking needs to improve but that’s fairly common early season.

They fed the playmakers instead of just calling plays based on predetermined usage.

The defense did not look confused. It looked a bit like Manny Diaz as it should. Last year was coaching malpractice asking a small front 7 to play straight up. We have coaches playing the strengths instead of being loyal to their scheme.

Pass rush wasn’t great but Marshall’s QB is a run threat so they may have been less aggressive to contain.

It felt like a breath of fresh air after everything being so buttoned up for years. Here’s hoping we see the same with the Steelers.
 
Big upset going on in the big house right now..,

Michigan’s quarterback Underwood looks horrible… especially for a kid that has a $12 million NIL contract..
