College Football Week 10

actually KS got the ball back after a quick punt and had a shot with a Hall Mary at the end....luckily it went UH's way

I only got to see bits and parts, but what I saw was pretty good. I’m glad UH won, but also was glad to see a good hard fought game between the two.

DID you actually go to the game and if so, I’d bet the play and excitement was great.!!

Salute the nation

oh it was awesome

55 minute lightening delay to start the day

rain off and on for the first half and a continual steady rain the whole seond half

It was a defensive fight most of the game

UH's qb Chriss went 11 for 11 for 103 yards and a TD and was sacked 4 times

two big interceptions by UH turned the tide, one set up a short TD drive

Latest AP poll, Penn State only fell to 6.

The first official playoff ranking comes out Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how much it differs from the AP poll.

#10 and #11 both lost this week... Bama maybe peeking at the door. Doubt my team will make any waves of we get in though...

Big test at LSU this week.

Penn State will easily stay in the playoffs especially if they win out with their easy schedule.

They don't deserve it, but neither does Ohio State. Two of the weakest top 10 teams in the NCAA. The good news is that a 12 team playoff will sort all of this out. about damn time

How doesn’t Ohio State deserve it? They lost by 1 point on the road against the number 1 team in the nation. And the only reason they lost was because they were called for a complete BS offensive PI

Oh, the number one team who struggled with Idaho and Boise State? And don't start with the phantom calls as excuses, OSU certainly had a few on Saturday in their favor.

The point is that Ohio State was driving to win the game against the number 1 team on the road and would’ve won without that call. And those 2 games you mentioned were the first 2 games of the year for Oregon. They have been beating up everyone except OSU since then and definitely playing like a great team.

Heresy. No one knows that. If If's and Buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.

Penn State wasn't the third best team in the country, and neither is Ohio State IMO. And for the record, I'm a Penn State fan. This isn't OSU hate at all, I see a lot of issues with both teams that will get exposed in the playoffs. Oregan is playing better than they did at the beginning of the season but hanging 35 points on a 1-6 Perdue team doesn't scream "we're number one". They've only scored 40+ points in one game this season against Oregan St, who just allowed Cal to put up 44 on them. I'm just not impressed.

It's not heresy (or hearsay, for that matter) to recognize that Oregon has held on to their #1 ranking longer than the three other teams who've had it so far this season. College football is wide open this year, but Oregon is deservedly at the top of the pile for the moment.

There are a handful of teams outside of the top 4 who have a legitimate shot at winning it all -- the 12-team playoff has been sorely needed for many years, and I'm glad that it's finally in place. Should be a number of competitive games, and we'll be able to see a bunch of great players perform in the postseason rather than opting out, as has become the custom lately.

College football has changed. NIL changed it. When we think of a top 5 team we generally think about a truly great team that can only be beaten by a team ranked higher than them. There are ZERO teams like that this year.

Oregon looks good but could have easily lost to Ohio State. Ohio State just beat Penn State but even in a game Penn State played poorly, They had the ball and may have been a Tyler Warren leap over the line away from a tie game late.

Texas got worked by Georgia. Bama has looked bad at times. Georgia looks like they are in danger nearly every week before they wake up.

Can Penn State beat Georgia? On paper i'd say no, but in reality and Beck throwing INTs like Jameis Winston, maybe they could.

I meant heresy, and the point was prophesizing an OSU win without a bad call.

Oregon has a cupcake schedule; we all know it. While the Georgia's, Alabama's, and Texas's maul one another Oregon barely escapes Ohio State and Idaho. I said what I said. I'm not impressed. At least we have a 12 team playoff to prove who is correct in this argument and I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong.

Matt Corral looked awesome in Kiffin’s system too. I’m always wary of QBs that have lots of easy reads and wide open throws.

You're certainly stretching the use of the word "heresy," then.

Yeah, Oregon barely escaped with a win against the #3 team in the country. Great point.

Alabama got beat by Vanderbilt and Tennessee (who lost to Arkansas). Texas barely escaped Vandy. Georgia was getting manhandled by Florida before the Gators had to put their third-string quarterback in the game. So spare me the bullshit about them mauling one another. Bama and Texas don't even play each other this year.

First official playoff ranking released. The top 10 matches the AP except Ohio State is 2 over Georgia

1 Oregon
2 Ohio State
3 Georgia
4 Miami
5 Texas
6 Penn State
7 Tennessee
8 Indiana
9 BYU
10 Notre Dame
11 Alabama
12 Boise State
13 SMU
14 Texas A&M
15 LSU
16 Ole Miss
17 Iowa State
18 Pitt

5 Ohio State vs. 12 Boise State (winner plays 4 BYU)
8 Tennessee vs. 9 Indiana (winner plays 1 Oregon)
6 Texas vs. 11 Alabama (winner plays 3 Miami)
7 Penn State vs. 10 Notre Dame (winner plays 2 Georgia)

A lot will change, but that is a pretty sweet pathway for Ohio State to the semis, by far the easiest, IMO. A home playoff game for Penn State against Notre Dame in primetime would get MASSIVE ratings...but watching Alabama come north for a game in the cold would be amazing.
