There are a few games that could have playoff implications but overall not a great week of matchups.

Maryland at 14 Penn State 3:30 FOX PSU -10
This is a huge game for Maryland. They always circle the PSU game because they fight for so many recruits. MD has some good offensive coaches and they have weapons. They will probably have a few new plays waiting.

Penn State's starting LG is done for the year. LT Olu Fashanu didn't play last week and freshman Drew Shelton played well. Penn State is dealing with a lot of OL injuries and they may have to make some tough decisions. They want to redshirt their best Ol prospects like Shelton but they migh have to burn some redshirts to keep up the OL.

Drew Allar got a lot of playing time last week and looked good. Clifford will start but they want Allar in the game to get experience. They'll have to build a lead to do that.

Penn State had 16 tackles for loss last week vs Indiana. The DL is improving and PSU DE Chop Robinson will be on a mission since he trabnsferred from MD. If Maryland can't block better than Indiana did then QB Taulia Tagovailoa will have a long day

7 LSU at Arkansas 12:00 ESPN LSU -3.5
fresh off the big win vs Bama, LSU gets 5-4 Arkansas that lost to Liberty last week. LSU is only favored by 3.5? Are they assuming a letdown? LSU can actually win the SEC west with a win and a Bama loss to Ole Miss. LSU's run defense is not great but that's what Arklansas does.

9 Alabama at 11 Ole Miss 3:30 CBS Ala -12
Bama coming off the close loss to LSU, their 2nd loss of the season. It will be interesting if they bench Bryce Young. I mean, they have 2 losses, just start the new guys to prepare for next year. If Ole Miss wins this game, it could create some chaos. LSU beat them so they have the inside track to the SEC Champ vs Georgia. Ole Miss could finish the season with 1 loss and possibly make it as the 2nd SEC team.

Nebraska at 3 Michigan 3:30 ABC Mich -31

Will Harbaugh run it up, try to win Corum the Heisman, and contribute to a 3rd tunnel incident this season?

Louisville at 10 Clemson 3:30 ESPN Clem -7
Clemson has not looked good all year and it finally caught up to them, getting blown out by Notre Dame. They have major QB issues. If they can't beat Louisville, things could start to go south fast.

22 UCF at 17 Tulane 3:30 ESPN2 Tulane -1.5
apparently these 2 teams are ranked and playing this week. Yep.

25 Washington at 6 Oregon 7:00 FOX Ore -13
the pac 12 is on the outside looking in at the playoffs which is not unusual for the PAC. Probably why USC is leaving for the Big 10. The Pac really needs Oregon to win this one to stay alive. Bo Nix is having a great season after transferring from Auburn. He could be in the heisman discussion coming off back to back 5 TD games.

4 TCU at 16 Texas 7:30 ABC Tex -7
this could be the biggest game of the day with TCU undefeated and taking up the #4 playoff spot. SEC wants them out so they can get a 2nd team. Same with Ohio State and Michigan. Same with the Pac 12. Basically nobody but TCU fans want TCU to win. Except me. I'd like to see TCU get in and screw over plans of powerful people. That's how yo uget an expanded playoff.

I can see Penn State losing this one. MD played Michigan tough, barely lost to Purdue and then had their lone bad game last week against Wisconsin. It should be a tough game. Penn State needs to get up on them early and not let them hang around.

Ole Miss hasn't looked like a 1 loss team ranked as high as they are but I don't think Alabama has looked good either. This game will either be a blowout by Alabama or a very tight game with a lot of scoring. Alabama won't start young guys as they are inside the top 10 and still, for some reason, have a shot at the playoffs.

No way are they benching Bryce. I just don't see a scenerio with that happening.
Right. To hell with developing the heir apparent, consider what a 3 loss season could do to Alabama’s recruiting.

Like Pitt, Penn State always seems to lose at least one game they shouldn’t have.

Yeah, bench your Heisman candidate QB in favor of next year's talent. It isn't enough to blow teams out and let him play in the 3rd/4th quarter.

Solid reasoning there Trog...

Sensing sarcasm? Think you need to re-read what I wrote.

Here we see Tape attempting to bait the bear and get @bermudasteel to respond since berm has not been heard from in these parts since last Saturday evening.

Actually it was more directed at PSU fans who felt as soon as they lost a 2nd game they should pretty much blow off the rest of the season and start a bunch of freshmen. Sound ridiculous when that reasoning is applied to Bama but somehow lots of Penn State fans think it’s the way to go.

Well, there are a couple of major differences. Young is a top-5 pick and Clifford will be lucky to get an invite to an NFL camp. Second, Alabama actually competes for national titles.

I certainly don't feel that way but I do feel Allar is going to be, if not already, better than Clifford. Franklin should have had a competition for QB1 and not just hand it to Clifford the second he said he was coming back. I think PSU would be no worse at this point in the season if Allar had started all the games. And, he would be much further along in his development which means light years better than Clifford.

Pitt up 14-0 over Virginia 16 seconds into the game without an offensive snap. Two plays, two pick 6’s.

I’m watching Vanderbilt vs Kentucky.
There is a BJ Anderson and an Anthony Orji(orgy)

The puns/innuendos that can come from this game(no pun intended)

Wow….what woke up the Penn State DL the last two weeks? 3 more sacks in the first two drives today.

Penn st up 14-0. Good play call on 4th and 1 for a TD
