College Football Week 11

I've never seen a Saban coached 'Bama team that was this undisciplined.

Finally got a Saturday where I can catch a few games

Tennessee putting up more than 700 yards on Offense
Ohio rolling

Now Ole Miss playing tough against BAMA

BERM still on bye week

Penn State up 27-0 at halftime. Defense without Joey Porter Jr with 5 sacks and holding Maryland to only 27 total yards.

Well, there are a couple of major differences. Young is a top-5 pick and Clifford will be lucky to get an invite to an NFL camp. Second, Alabama actually competes for national titles.

That doesn't matter. The logic is that as soon as you have that 2nd loss, the season is done so get next year's starters some reps. That applies to Bama this year but as I said, that suggestion seem absurd for Bama. Why? They are likely on the same track as PSU for this season, hoping to finish up with e New Year's 6 bowl.

I certainly don't feel that way but I do feel Allar is going to be, if not already, better than Clifford. Franklin should have had a competition for QB1 and not just hand it to Clifford the second he said he was coming back. I think PSU would be no worse at this point in the season if Allar had started all the games. And, he would be much further along in his development which means light years better than Clifford.

I don't think there's any way they would have beaten Purdue week 1 on the road with Allar. How would Allar react starting at Auburn? Clifford played a really good game both times vs Auburn. It's easy to just assume a true freshman QB woule play great from day 1 but that would be rare. And again, you're talking about possibly throwing away a season just to develop a QB. How do the seniors feel that you are saying they don;t matter and that you are just using them to prepare for next year?

Fact is, there was a QB competition. Clifford won. he won because he actually knows the offense and he is able to set the protections. This OL was not good for much of the year. It's been a work in progress. So you would be starting a true freshman behind a shaky OL. Plus, i've seen reports that Allar doesn't look all that great in practices. He makes mistakes like a freshman.

Having said all that, i'm disappointed they didn't get Allar better reps today. He pretty much just handed off.

Quinshon Judkins is straight out of a Key and Peel sketch but what a fun guy to watch.

I'll admit to pulling Clifford but honestly, it's was out of my frustration. Watching Allard you can see he's still a little off. I heard an interesting conversation last week if the 12 team playoffs were in place the last 6-7 years, folks would be looking at Franklin different. He would have gotten Penn State into the playoffs 5 of the last 7 seasons with probably another this year. Penn State would be looked upon as a top flight program.

I do think there is another issue that the Big Ten needs to address. The west division is trash. I would guess 4 of the top 5 teams in the league are pretty much in the eastern division every year. I think they should move Michigan and Michigan State to the West and Purdue and pick one, Wisconsin, Minnesota or Iowa to the East.

Was gonna watch the Pens but hulu doesn’t carry nhln.

UGA ball it is. I expect UGA to kick arse tonight

The cowbells are giving Miss st powers.

Close score. Bennett looks confused tonight

There’s the UGA I know! Bout ******* time

We rough Miss st’s punter after they rough ours lol

It's amazing how far the Penn State OL has come. They played without starting LT Olu Fashanu and LG Landon Tengwell and had another strong performance. The OL could be really strong next year especially if Fashanu stays another year. But that seems unlikely if he is projected to be a high first round pick.

Actually it was more directed at PSU fans who felt as soon as they lost a 2nd game they should pretty much blow off the rest of the season and start a bunch of freshmen. Sound ridiculous when that reasoning is applied to Bama but somehow lots of Penn State fans think it’s the way to go.
Sean Clifford ain’t no Bryce Young and Alabama was competitive in both of its losses, so I wouldn’t say it’s exactly the same situation.

I'm concerned over all the hype about Allar as a "Top QB Recruit" and the announcers constantly singing his praises. Outside of a few plays, I don't see he has not stood out when he throws the ball. He does need more reps and he is presumably the future but Clifford is the best right now and Franklin, with all his faults, is starting the right QB.

Those cowbells are the most annoying damn thing in all of college football
No, Florida State and their war chant or whatever the **** that is. Whole game, almost constant. I have the watch the games muted.
