The top teams of the Big 10 are all off this week, PSU, Ohio State and Michigan. With Penn State on a Bye, this is a weak slate by definition. But for sake of completeness, let's see what the other less important teams are doing this week.
12 Oklahoma State at 25 Texas 12:00 FOX Tex -3.5 O/U 60
Okla Sta is unbeaten. Texas is coming off the epic collapse vs Oklahoma in the red river shootout. Texas is really up and down this year. Okie State has fallen off since Mason Rudolph left and this could be a huge win for the program.
Auburn at 17 Arkansas 12:00 BCS Ark -4.5 O/U 54
Arkansas has looked good and also been blown out. This could be the week to find out how good Auburn really is. Their only 2 losses are to PSU and Georgia, who likely would be ranked 1 and 2 right now if PSU's QB didn't get injured last week. They scored 10 on Georgia which is probably 10 more than most thought they'd score.
21 Texas A&M at Missouri 12:00 SECN TAM - 11 O/U 59.5
TAM pulled of the upset over Bama last week. Missouri is not that good. I only mention this game because it feels like the classic setup for a letdown. I wish TAM was playing somebody a bit better this week like Tenn or or Auburn so i could bet on the upset. I don't think i can bring myself to betting on Mizz but it's tempting.
11 Kentucky at 1 Georgia 3:30 CBS UGA -21.5 O/U 44.5
Penn State transfer QB Will levis has Kent undefeated. But this defense is a huge step up in competition. Levis is a physical runner and was used mostly (ironically) as a wildcat at PSU. He's passing more at Kentucky but he may have to revert to his power running tendencies to keep the chains moving vs Georgia.
I wrote in last week's thread, it's actually better for the SEC os Kent somehow wins this. The SEC wants 2 playoff teams. If Kent wins this and ends up in the SEC Champ game instead of Georgia, then it avoids GA and bama facing off in the Champ game. Bama will likely make it on their side. If they face GA and lose that's 2 losses. I wouldn't put it past the committe to put 2 loss Bama in the playoff but it's no guarantee. And what if Bama beats GA in the Champ game? They probably both get in but Ga would likely not be the 1 seed. Best scenario is GA and Bama miss each other in the Champ game.
Pitt at Virginia Tech 3:30 ESPN2 Pitt - 5 O/U 56
Could be a good game. Pitt is hoping to break into the rankings. With the weak schedule this game could end up with a lot of viewers, especially if the UGA vs Kentucky game turns into a blowout. Also, Kenny Picket will have a lot of interest as his name is starting to surface as one of the top QBs in a weak QB class.
