College Football Week 8

Rough game for PSU. Clifford was obviously still injured. Illinois knew he couldn't throw deep and had no zip on the ball so they just clogged the middle. Clifford couldn't run either. He's not Lamar Jackson, but he usually does run the ball a few times per game to move the chains and that effects a defense. Clifford was no threat to run, couldn't throw deep, and had accuracy issues.

You have to wonder just how awful the backup QB was in practice that sending what looked like a 60% healthy Clifford out there was the best they could do. I still think they should have pulled Clifford. EVen if you just ran wildcat every play, it would have been better.

The defense actually played great. Yeah they gave up a bunch of rush yardage but Illinois was basically in goalline using 7 OL much of the game and grinding out yards. They knew they had time to do that since PSU couldn't score. Penn State lost their run stuffing DT for the season and in this game, the backup went down too. Even with that, the defense only gave up 10 points in regulation. Can't ask for more.

This new OT is awful. I was never crazy about the old OT where you start on the 25, but now you go to single play 2 point conversions by the 3rd OT, it's horrible. It feels like you are going to get a random winner at that point.

Yeah I hate this new OT, its clownish. That they called that 2pt conversion contest a "9OT" result is pure mickey mouse garbage. Not a good look at all for college football

That Miami-NC State game was a pretty fun watch

So big question Pitt fans…. What's the next heartbreak loss this season? Miami?
Not Miami they are a dumpster fire they won't be upsetting anyone short of their fans feelings..

UH is 5-1 and undefeated in conference

their loss was the opening game to Texas Tech, UH had the lead at halftime but their Jr QB lost his balls in the second half and didn't do ****

They had a 3PM kick off today that was delayed over 5 hours by weather and just started 20 minutes ago

THey play undefeated SMu next weekend in Houston which should be a really good gam

Thanks Coolie, how did game turn out?

How often do you get to go to any of the games there?

If you like to follow small schools. Check out UTSA. They’ve only been in existence since like 2011 or something like that and have finally cracked top 25.

I know a guy who graduated from GA and I'm going to follow them some, in honor of him.

uh lost a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter, missed two longs field goals then won the game in the first OT by breaking their first play for a 25 yard TD run and then forcing a fumble on the second down play for the losers

I get to a few games a year, and I have tickets to next Saturdays game. Two teams undefeated in conference, it should be a good game

UH has Sr corner named Jones who also returns punts and kick-offs. He has 3 returns for TDs this year including a KO returned last night in the 1st quarter

he is pretty solid in coverage and made some big tackles last night

He has also played WR at times

He will likely be one of the guys I pimp during the offseason heading into draft

As long as you don't share his name w/ Coach - he's a definite to be on the radar for the Steelers!!!

Maybe, but the defense giving up over 350 yards rushing and having no rushing offense would doom them down the stretch.
Injuries caused that too...It is what it is.....

I agree they were never really playoff material and most likely wouldnt have beat OSU but they could have been a 1 loss team in a decent bowl game.

Thanks Coolie, I care !
