Any good games happening here in the states? Everyone is probably exhausted from the 8:30 kickoff for the penn sate game. True, all games are downhill after that, but still there's a few games of note.

Ohio State looked like ****. I didn't realize Braxton Miller played defense.

Michigan TE Devin Funchess looks like he dropped weight and is now playing WR. He's huge and catches everything.

Penn State QB Christian Hackenberg led a last minute game winning drive while throwing for 450 yards. Freshman WR DaeSean Hamilton had 11 receptions replacing Allen Robinson.

Navy and Virginia almost pulled off the upsets. UCLA is lucky to win. Their defense scored 21 points for them. They won't win the Pac-10 playing like that.

The Big Ten looks like the Big Ten. I see one relevant team there.

If every team won by 100 you would say the same.

LOL. I have little to worry about there.

So your contention is that the Big Ten looks strong? Maybe so, now that the Cal, Navy, and Northern Iowa games are over with. Those were the sticky ones.

When did i say that? That whole conference bullshit is your game. I just gave a few observations on the games i actually watched.

The Big actually does look good right now. UCF was ranked like 26. Rutgers had a good win vs Wash State in Seattle.

Northwestern will have a tough year. Their best player Veneric Mark left the team like 2 weeks ago and is transferring.

You complained about my assessment that, as usual, they look like **** as a conference. So I assumed you disagreed.

Of course they do. They look totally relevant.

UCF is a quality opponent (in fact, I expected them to win). I can't say the same about NIU, Cal, or Navy.

Pitt pounded Delaware 62-0. First time in a long time that they beat a cupcake like they should.

Watching Alabama - WVU. Alabama looks like crap on defense. If WVU QB would stop missing wide open guys and shooting the offense in the foot, they may be in the lead in this game. As it is they are only down 7 with 5 minutes to go in the 3rd.

NDSU destroyed ISU...

not from ND but it was nice to see....

Once again, you are the one going to the conference strength argument that i never made. I was pointing out that the big ten so far has won all their games and you still say they look like ****. Based on what? So far they have done well in reality, which is what i was referencing.

I'm still looking for where i made these grand statements about the Big Ten. Aside from psu, i mentioned a WR on Michigan looks great and Ohio State looked like ****. Yeah, i'm really pimping the big ten hard there.

Agree, Sarge.

WVU should be winning that game...would be fun watching Saban at the press conference if they lost

I give credit to WVU for playing hard and if they hadn't dropped a few key balls and got a few penalties at the wrong time would have been closer. One thing for sure fro a Chic- fil- A start of season game the announcers sure were one sided, they showed Kiffen as if he was the head coach. Nice going Mountaineers.

Georgia / Clemson is the best game so far

My parlay is already busted, I didn't think the Buckeyes would get that lucky to cover the spread

Im laughing my *** off!

The local station here is talking about what south Dakota has to do tonight to beat Oregon...haha.........

Nice to see Ficken hit the game-winner for PSU. Good for him...he's come a long way since that horror show against UVA.

Dan Rooney was at the PSU game to present them with the Dan Rooney Trophy.

Once again, you are the one going to the conference strength argument that i never made.

You frequently rip the SEC as an overrated conference from top to bottom. Yes, you like to discuss conference strength as well. That is, when you're not predicting certain doom for each individual SEC team, week in, week out.

Yes,they won all of their games, with the exception of Northwestern losing to Cal, who finished 1-13 last year. And you don't need me to explain that beating Northern Iowa by a TD at home isn't enough to be considered "doing well." Looks to me like a letdown day, considering NW lost to one of the worst programs in the country and OSU, Iowa, and Purdue struggled mightily v. nobodies.

LSU`s incredible amount of superior athletes wears down another Little Ten plodding team. LSU is young but will get better all year.

i don;t even think you read what i write half the time. What i constantly challenge is SEC people trying to take the success of Bama or whoever finishes at the top and then try to apply that to MIss State as if they would walk into the Horseshoe and whip Ohio State just because Florida was able to beat them in a bowl game.

You do the exact opposit with the Big Ten. A big Ten team loses and that means the whole conference stinks. What does Northwestern losing have to do with Ohio State or Michigan State? Nothing at all in reality but somehow in the skewed college football world it somehow takes away from them.

So now WIsconsin loses to LSU in a close game. LSU couldn't move the ball until 2 of the Wisconsin staring 3 on the DL left with injuries. This game showed these were 2 even teams/ A few weeks from now it will somehow be an epic beatdown that proves the no Big Ten team deserves a playoff spot.

You know quite well that you alternate ripping one SEC team after another. Nearly every big SEC game, we get posts and arguments from you as to how Team X is overrated, their pass rush isn't that good, Team Y will surprisingly present a problem, etc. I remember you steadfastly tearing into Bama when LSU got the NC nod over OK State; you went on and on about Bama's overrated defense having no answer for Weeden's offense. I know you also called Bama-ND too close to call. You do it multiple times per season, then claim you're just making a point about the media and the SEC overhyping.

then try to apply that to MIss State as if they would walk into the Horseshoe and whip Ohio State just because Florida was able to beat them in a bowl game.

I see a LOT of that from you. You often point to random bowl games in which a good-not-great SEC team drops a 45-41 bowl game as undeniable proof that the SEC isn't bulletproof. Hell, you said it to me not long ago, probably within the month.

It means plenty, because Northwestern will eventually serve as one of OSU's and MSU's signature games. While Bama and Auburn face a murderer's row almost weekly, Northwestern and Iowa and PSU will make up a huge chunk of MSU's "resume."

Absolutely; it's all in the injuries. It always is. Bama would have had no shot v. Notre Dame had Te'o not been dealing with his drama.

I doubt a Big Ten team will deserve a playoff spot, yes. Why? Because the conference winner will probably be 10-2 or 11-1, having lost to some middle-of-the-pack Big Ten team like PSU or Nebraska, with a signature win of 13-9 over Iowa. They will simply lack the resume. You'll disagree, because you'll know for a fact that MSU would CRUSH Auburn if their punter's hamstring had been healthy. But reality will lean toward a 10-2 Auburn or LSU team that had just beaten 2-3 ranked teams that month.

The last decade of overwhelming SEC dominance means absolutely nothing.
