I mean, this is all going to lead to higher crime rates. It's just a matter of how much the public is willing to take.

Criminal justice is almost ALWAYS a pendulum cycle. Crime gets bad and eventually the democrats don't fight as hard for "criminal protections and reform" as it hurts their election chances. Laws that are tougher on crime slowly get passed. Republicans sound off on crime as a major campaign issue (sometimes overly so). Incarceration goes up. Streets get safer. Crime goes down. Then the criminal justice loudmouths start acting up, the democrats start listening, they pass softer and softer crime bills. Crime increases and we repeat the process over and over.

In each cycle, small changes are made (maybe for the better), but why we can't just find middle ground on this is ridiculous. Both sides just go crazy.

There is no doubt in my mind however that we are in a era of higher crime rates. And it will last for at least 5+ years.

I know I may have to serve some time in purgatory for wishing this but ...

It would not be a terrible thing if some of those released prisoners robbed, raped and killed politicians and their families, rather than the middle and lower class. Let politicians for once feel the outcome of their policies.

Unrealistic wish, since politicians live behind walls with armed guards. Violent criminals are too smart to target those guys.

In fairness, it will be illegal for released criminals to get a gun, and I'm preeeeety sure they aren't going to risk going back to prison by breaking the law. Right?

Gun laws in California will prevent any further gun violence. Every CA citizen should sleep well tonight, knowing their gov't has their back.
 
Not only that, Hamster, but California politicians reportedly are considering taking time away from cruising the Mediterranean in their yachts to fly home on their private jets, get escorted to the capital in their limos and surrounded by armed guards, to vote to make it illegal to allow Trump on twitter and Fakebook!!

All problems are solved!

Well everyone wants to hire violent convicted felons who desperately just want to work hard.So they'll be raking in the money, no need for crime.


Maybe California will just pay them a monthly income to be good. Free drugs for those in need as well.

Ah hell they should just close all of the California prisons. All of the politicians state and local should take in the murderers. All senators and the govenor will house the serial killers...

The "squad" get the serial rapists to bunk with. Just put up a rape&murder free zone sign. Problem solved. They'd better keep a tube of lube just in case one falls off the no brutal rape wagon or can't read the sign.

Democrats are a bored bunch. How sad is it when they have no problems releasing criminals but whine about an ex presidents presence on the internet?

Honestly, this trend set forth is starting to look like an elaborate plan to overthrow those who actually built this country

They're busy,not bored! They are trying to deconstruct the entire foundation by attacking the framers. Founders=bad, which means the whole thing is bad from the get go. = fundamental change.
 
why not give the released prisoners armed guard status to keep the peace in the state?
