should be 2 comp picks if drafting CB Riley Moss Iowa as white DBs starting are maybe 1 every 5 years and I think last white starting CB is still Sehorn from nyg 2000

You are against quotas… but not against the quota of minority coaches that need to be interviewed. I get what you are saying. It was a rule for “good intentions” but as well know the road to hell is paved with.

Yea, Ford already mentioned Riley Moss' eventual free fall in another thread because he's white. Now there's a proposal from Ford to compensate teams who draft white players, I'm sure he is being sarcastic in both instances.
 
So here is what I know. Robert Saleh is Egytpian Lebanese American. My wife is Greek Canadian. I know ALOT of Greeks. From some points you can practically see Egypt from Greece. So if a coach was Greek American in both sides of his family but was quite light complectioned.....does he count or not. Yes or no.
 
The absurd thing is that, by giving them additional comp picks, the NFL is giving the 49ers a competitive advantage for doing something that, in theory, should give the 49ers a competitive advantage.

His free fall was before the combine where he showed his athleticism. But still down on most board. I mean tell me how a top 10 pff rated CB who in his collegiate career has allowed a 75 QB rating is ranked 20th CB via draftbuzz, not ranked on tankathon, 16th in draft database, not ranked on CBS, 29th in Walterfootball, 19th in yahoo, and 12th in drafttek which imo isn't too far off. I would say low but not crazy off. I have him 8th or 9th if you include Brian Branch at CB and not Safety since he can play both. I rated him there because his play is deserving to be there. Anyone that has him too far off is rating him lower because the color of his skin.

The comp pick system is so ****** to begin with … and the League absolutely rules in favor of certain clubs way too often… like the Ravens ..


Look this year we were never getting picks… but last year they royally ****** us out of a premium pick…

Comp pick’s should be more cut and dry to compensate teams that are developing talent in the league…

first of all, anyone signed for the league minimum should not count at all… the team that developed them isn’t losing a player they are looking to keep in that scenario… id go so far as to say only players who sign for 2x or more should even be considered for the equation

Secondly signing your own free agents should never matter.. even if it’s midseason before they sign

Thirdly teams that cut players after the season started should not get off the hook for signing them in the first place… they took the player from the other team. It should make zero difference to either teams comp picks if they are cut or not

Finally if you sign a player then trade him, he should still count on your equation because you got an asset from signing him and tge otger team gave one up

Last year, for instance, San Francisco resigned their own player ( Witherspoon) then traded said player to us for a fifth round pick… the league ruled that Witherspoon would count as a free agent add to is… which adjusted our comp pick from netting a third and a second low round pick to just a fourth… it was absurd… absolutely stupid logic
