I believe we can beat the chiefs. Their running game is subpar and their WRs are not that great. They are winning alot with defense. Kelce could cause us problems and Mahomes scrambling and playmaking could be an issue, but we can deal with him like lamar and he is not as fast or strong. The D needs to be more aggressive overall. If we play back or soft zones we will get destroyed. I don't know why we are not blitzing more in general.

I think you may be right. The Cheifs are the frauds of 2024.
Call me conspiracy theorist but after looking at the playoff scenarios I see a world where Bengals win out and KC intentionally loses to the Broncos to make sure they don't let Burrow and Chase make it to the playoffs.
Nobody wants to see the Bengals in the playoffs. They are as good as anyone this year on offense. 100% my dark horse for the superbowl on the afc side, if they happen to get in?

Concede nothing. Play every game like it's your last. That goes for meaningless games, in my opinion anyways but we see teams resting starters all the time at the end of the season but at least with the Steelers how many times did we see starters rested and they play like crap for the first half or more in the next game. Bad habits creep in quick.

Exactly.

To the OP, think about what you're actually suggesting here. You want guys who, for the most part, work their ***** off to the bone to get where they've gotten, guys who have TON of pride (and ego), guys whom might never have played in games that actually mean something this late in a season, and are ONLY wired ONE WAY, and that's to play to win, no matter what (unless they're shitbags, which we don't really seem to have that issue). Guys who are playing for the guy to the left and the right of them, and playing for that next contract, in many cases. To either directly and openly tell them to lie down, or even just to act in a manner/make decisions from a leadership position that would indicate to the locker room that "hey guys, stand down, we're going to lie down on this one because x,y,z", is absolute poison for a pro football team, it will never lead to good things, it will come back to bite you either in the short OR long-term (or both). I don't care if our playoff seed were already settled and the Steelers had absolutely no ability to improve their lot, you still have to approach every single game like it might just be the last game you ever coach/play for the rest of your life.

lol do you read what you post? say what you just typed, out loud, and see how ridiculous it sounds.

absolutely NOBODY, certainly not the chiefs, are going to be losing "intentionally", out of fear that the big bad bengals might make the playoffs

some of you guys need to lay off the the schnapps during the holidays lol

If they rest the Starters vs the Broncos week 18. That is exactly what they are doing

if they rest the starters, it's because they want the starters to be rested for the playoffs, it has absolutely jack squat to do with their feelings on whether the bengals do, or don't, make the postseason.

They upped the importance by dropping the Rats game that meant something

It meant squat if they could’ve focused on the 1 of the 3 games in 10 days that was of utmost importance

Sadly they had themselves positioned to make only 1 of those 3 matter but alas now this one matters more than it should’ve.

Have zero doubt the Chiefs dispatch is with prejudice and get into the extra bye week they earn by doing so
Shades’ annual end-of-season swoon. 3 game losing streaks in December in 3 of the last 5 seasons.

Typically we either start strong and collapse or start crummy and finish strong

GREAT Post Omar, thank you !!!

Salute the nation

win the North and get a home play off game

even though losing the north could mean a trip to Houston and a chance for coolie to see his favorite team in a playoff game...

torn between two options

but the best for the Steelers is likely the home playoff game

I sympathize with you in your chance to see the greatest team ever, at your home town, BUT fully respect your desire for Division win and HF playoff game.

The steelers will have a better chance at home than they would away.

Why does the Steelers conference placing affect your ability to see Houston?

So we are clear, if the Steelers beat the Chiefs and Bengals, the Division is won by Pittsburgh, regardless of Ratbird results

If the Ravens lose to Houston and Cleveland the division is won by Pittsburgh, regardless of Steelers results

If we beat the Chiefs and lose to Cinci and the ravens beats Houston but loses to Cleveland, the Division is won by Pittsburgh

If the Ravens lose either game, and the Steelers beat Cinci, the division is won by Pittsburgh

The Ravens two paths to the division are

Outright winning more than the steelers ( so thhe Steelers going 1-1 and Baltimore going 2-0 or the steelers going 0-2 and the ravens going 1-1

Tying but having more division wins ... they play Cleveland week 18 and we play cinci... so they havve to beat clettonvtonelt\and abd wthee have to lose to Cinci

I think win one of the next two and The Ravens lose one of the next two and we win the division and Tomlin gets a lifetime extension, transferrable to any family member. Seems like the most realistic outcome.
