Conner is a Steeler!!

Pretty cool to see a RB playing DE, pulling a sweet spin move and going after the passer. As Colbert said, this kid should have a big role on ST as well as backing up Bell. Looking forward to seeing what he can do on the field.

So I think the Steelers did a decent job of getting ahead of some position runs on offense. And that was odd to predict because we all talked about how this was such a good defensive draft you'd think defense would be drafted like gangbusters. But maybe the fact 6 of the top 9 picks in this draft were "skill positions" (QB/RB/WR) should have indicated teams were going to overdraft the thin offensive positions early and expect good defense to still be on the board later. If that indeed was the case getting Smith-Shuster at #62 and Conner at pick #105 looks pretty decent in retrospect.

This was a great post, particular this part, Del. I've stopped worrying about "reaching" for players because you never know when a run will happen and it's better to get your guy while you can. I do think the injuries/suspensions played a role in these two picks as well, but the fact is that is the reality of Bryant and Bell. If you could depend on them to be on the field for 16 games and playoffs, the isn't as much of a need to draft for depth early, but that hasn't been the case. Last year the Steelers had a preseason roster at the skill position in the AFC Championship game. That wasn't going to get it done so they did something about it.

We talked about this during the game (me and Justin) while we watched our ***** get handed to us. Outside of AB our WRs were just garbage on the field. Getting back Bryant and signing Hunter were huge for us. Hopefully everyone can stay healthy and Ben has the weapons needed to get to the Super Bowl this year.

Yeah we heard a lot on this board talk about guys like Rogers and Hamilton and how good they could be all year. Nope. Those are players who can make some plays when they are the fourth or fifth option on the field, not one of the top three.

Bermuda approves of this pick.

Who the **** is Bermuda................... Oh, I get it now.................................................. !!!!!!!

I too, approve of this pick. I'll be pulling for Connors and of course the STEELERS too !!!!!!

Salute the nation

You better get your **** together quick Conner...you've got a lot of work ahead of you if you're gonna make an impact on this board like the last 3rd round comp RB did. 3 pages, weak...very weak.

our LS is beating him out

:cool1:

^^^ haha, saw that too...quite the hubbub about the LS pick ^^^

I think Ben is responsible for both Juju and Connor picks... I'm glad he allowed the GM and coach to make a couple picks to help the atrocious pass rush and secondary.

That being said.. I do like Connor, not a big fan of Juju or any WR in the 2nd round.

he was making a push ... and they worked out together.

well, if that was the cost of keeping Ben happy then I gladly agree with this draft (except for LS incident of course LOL)
