Corliss Waitman released? WTF

I’ve said it in the past that this football team will never play in another SB as long as Shades is the HC. Very cocky, arrogant, and thinks he knows better than anyone else. What his coordinators and position coaches say has little affect. He’s the man and let’s them know it. That’s what happens when mediocrity is the standard by the owner and little accountability.
When Ben goes this is the guy who will be instrumental in deciding who our next QB will be. God help us all.

Meh...I just happy to get #19 on the field...
Not sure how much of an impact he will have being out that length of time. But sure can't hurt.

What kind of message does this send to players? They all can see like us Waitman has outperformed Harvin...no commitment to winning, just a commitment to stubbornness and ego from the leadership of this team
It causes rats to jump ship - two OL coaches in two years, our good middle linebacker, etc.

Here's Harvin's punting results from last week:

PIT 44 to BAL 20 --> 36 yards
PIT 46 to BAL 20 --> 34 yards
BAL 42 to BAL 16 --> 26 yards
PIT 21 to BAL 30 --> 49 yards
PIT 7 to PIT 40 --> 33 yards
PIT 29 to BAL 25 --> 46 yards
50 to BAL 14 --> 36 yards
PIT 44 to BAL 18 --> 38 yards

FIve of those were from near midfield, and good punters routinely put those high in the air to be fair caught on the 10 or closer. Harvin got not a single one inside the 14, and two on the 20, equivalent to touchbacks. Two were decent (one which was for some reason not received by Baltimore, and took an 8-yard Steelers bounce) And one was an abomination; when he really needed to boom a kick out of his own endzone, he shanked it 33 yards.

His best punt of 49 yards was 3 yards less than Waitman's average of 52+.

Tomlin's decisions continue to boggle the mind.

To me the thing that got Berry cut was inconsistent punts and his inability to pin a team. And that is what got this kid his job. Now he punts from like the Steelers 47 and it ends up at the 17 What is the point of that. That is 3 yards from just smashing it through the endzone. Which literally anyone who punted in college could do. You have to do better.

What I don’t get about HCMT is some guys get a leash a mile long and others one bad play and they never get out of the doghouse
Dk today posted an article that Klemm and Canada wanted to replace Green many games ago but Tomlin blocked them… the team is definitely not set by who is earning playing time…
Harvin plays for the same reason Devin Bush plays. They were draft picks. Barring injury, Shades will not bench a draft pick in favor of a UDFA no matter how bad he sucks.

I can't see using draft picks on punters and kickers, ever.

This just goes to show you how bad a Head Coach Mike Tomlin truly is. Waitman has 2 games....3 punts over 60 yards and a 57 yd average. Pressley Harvin in his last game averaged 37.5 yds per punt.

I mean a 10 year old can make the right choice here.

Letting Waitman go in favor of Harvin could actually spell the difference in this game if it comes down to the Steelers punter not being able to do a competent job and flip the field of play for the Steelers.

Terrible coaching decision! TERRIBLE!

they should really sign Waitman to the PS and have him and Harvin compete the kids punts were great

Well, at least the game thread will be entertaining.

It will be epic in either direction. A W cools the volcano, a big get your *** handed to you look like unprepared crap L. Gets Krakatoa and a free flowing river of molten lava...haha.

You knew Tomlin would **** multiple things up and playing Harvin is one. Waitman had no problem holding for kicks so that's not an issue. Harvin is good for at least one shank per game. That will cost you in the playoffs. Mistakes are magnified.

Thus the "how long has it been since we've won a playoff game"

Please dear GOD, help BEN in this game.!

Salute the nation
