Covid Vaccine

So again, for the trillionth time, anybody trying to do statistics here on deaths has to compare apples to apples… if you use the estimated death totals from the cdc, you have to use the estimated infected total… you cannot use the estimated death total with the confirmed case total… that interjects a serious bias…

so lets play with the absolutely debunked 600,000 deaths number… its a lie and the cdc confirms that… but hey what the hell… that is an estimated number… there weren’t positive test results or autopsies involved in those cases… its a general catch all they do for infectious illnesses like the flu…

but they are estimating case load too… and it takes a year or two after for them to finalize that number…

Covid is several times more contagious than most flus, though less than some other illnesses… but for reference the year long estimation for the swine flu was 700 million to 1.4 billion worldwide and this will be well higher than that, maybe tripling it…

the last estimate for the first year of covid was 120 million Americans had the illness… so lets see… 600,000 deaths ( it was closer to 300,000, but whatever) /120000000 equals what? A half of a percent? And that was tge always higher first pass that culled the most vulnerable

not trying to be a dick, but proper conversions are essential to real data crunching here…

to be completely honest, all of this data should have approximate accuracy associated with it… or at least a low end estimate and a high end estimate…

i get that things are constantly changing, but still some logical consistency in data would be nice…

i have to submit data to tge government all the time… I don’t think it is too much to ask that tge same rules i have to follow they do to when they are releasing data to the public

Some employers and universities are REQUIRING periodic testing for non-vaccinated faculty and students.

I’m vaccinated. You are not and argue the vaccines are pointless. You rave about how Covid will never go away. Who loves Covid?

Someone needs to point out to the eloquent writers of tripe like this.....it reads like a social column on who's who rather than one using real world science......that they are factually incorrect, scientifically illogical and should not have made it past seasoned editing that should have easily caught and rejected this terrible socio-editorial.

Right! Several low vaccinated states are using the mechanism of thinning the herd to get to herd immunity.

The vaccine might not be the only way, but it is unquestionably the BEST way.

Wrong. Find where I've argued as such. I've argued the vaccines are experimental, not FDA approved, and offer too many adverse event reactions compared to other vaccines. I've argued they are unnecessary for kids.

They do lessen symptoms, they are a blessing and a god send for many that direly needed them like the elderly or the sick.

They also happen to be waning rapidly, do nothing to prevent the spread of COVID, and a shocking high # of people who've had them are being hospitalized/getting ill from COVID. Their efficacy is now in question.

Ed, how do we measure "as little damage, death, and disability as possible?????

That's not only an opinion, but a bad one.

When we get normally developed, proven vaccines, you're onto something then.

Now? These vaccines are too ineffective. They allow spread, too many vaccinated are getting the virus and too many vaccinated getting the virus are getting hospitalized.

Oh no, these vaccines are NOT the way to controlling this.

Those were actual vaccines not experimental gene therapies. Those were also for the prevention of diseases that were much more harmful than the Wuhan Virus which has a .03% chance of being fatal. And nobody was using those vaccines as a club to demand violations of our natural rights.

The fact is, again, and this CAN NOT be disputed, getting the vaccine decreases your chance of being hospitalized by Covid by almost 100 times less likely. Getting the vaccine decreases your chance of DYING from Covid by over 1000 times less likely. Those are rough numbers. If you want to argue it's 90 times less likely or 110 less likely, I'm not going down that stupid fool argument. You don't believe any numbers anyway.

I could care less how many positive cases there are. I'm not even sure how that could possibly be tracked effectively since not everyone that gets sick or has very mild symptoms is going to get tested.

I do care, as should everyone here, about hospitalizations and deaths, which again are going up because people refuse to get vaccinated. Of course, you guys wear so many tin hats you don't even believe simple statistics like deaths and hospitalizations without claiming there is some massive conspiracy going on.

You want to talk about why I think you're all crazy loons? That's why. You don't even want to believe the numbers. So you only believe the numbers (however more far flung and from weirder and weirder spots on the internet) that support what you believe to start with. THAT IS THE DEFINITION of a conspiracy loon. is it a conspiracy when they admit it on camera but you choose to ignore it? Is it a conspiracy when the CDC publishes numbers that are totally false? Sure eventually they fixed it but the damage had already been done. I am not a conspiracy theorist in most cases. This is the truth no conspiracy needed. Watch the video.

My daughters floor at her hospital has lost 2/3rds of their nurses and may have to shut down her unit due to nurse shortages. They are requiring the vaccine and nurses are leaving in droves. The places not requiring it are getting fully staffed.

Yep. My daughter has been working the ER non-stop due to staffing shortages. Same reason, this damn vaccine. People quitting left and right. She's about to follow suit.

Its bananas. These people were forced to work throughout the pandemic with no vaccine. Now they're being forced to quit unless they take the vaccine. Seriously, WTF is going on in this country?

When she got home from work yesterday, she said EVERY positive case of Covid in the ER was fully vaccinated people. 21 cases. Fully vaccinated.
