Covid Vaccine

Every ER I'm aware of is stopping people at the entrance and redirecting anyone showing COVID symptoms.

It’s statistically hard to believe, isn’t it? Think about it. Even if the vaccine is totally ineffective and the vaccinated are just as likely to need hospitalization, if you assume 60% are fully vaccinated, there is a .002% chance that all 21 would be vaccinated. 1 in 46,000.

So, you're saying that Sarge's daughter is full of **** based on your best guess statistical analysis. Lets say this, based on that, and it's highly improbable and look at my math!!

I would think that someone like you would trust the word of our medical workers who are dealing with this everyday. No?

It’s math, a perfect science.

The patients could be full of ****, Sarge’s daughter could be full of ****, Sarge could be full of ****, OR not only are the vaccines totally ineffective, but ALSO a 1/46,000 occurrence just happened. The only assumption being 60% fully vaxed. Unless it’s close to 100%, the odds are going to be very remote that all 21 were vaccinated.

I have no reason to lie. I am vaccinated and support vaccination, even now, when we see they aren't what they were sold as. Whether you believe me or not is hardly my problem.

Look, the patients could be lying about being vaccinated. I am just telling you that out of 21 COVID positive tests yesterday, all 21 patients claimed they were vaccinated. Take it for what it is. My guess is that some were lying. She thinks so too. In fact, she thinks a lot of people lie about it, considering that the county she lives in is about 25% fully vaccinated, yet just about everyone coming into the ER claims to be vaccinated. It's funny because some days, they don't see a positive COVID test, vaccinated or not.

No, I mean ER. Everyone coming in for treatment of any kind is tested, vaccinated or not.

It's not like they would be turned away for being unvaccinated.

I’d imagine some are clueless enough to think that they will be refused treatment, others are likely just embarrassed they came down with Covid after not getting vaccinated. I’m sure people lie to dentists all the time about their oral hygiene.

My stepdad got the shot 2 weeks ago. He tested positive for Covid either Thursday or Friday. My mom naturally has it now too. She didn't get the shot though. Thankfully, both of them are just experiencing minor cold-like symptoms. I told them to immediately demand therapeutics that help treat symptoms if things take a turn for the worse though.

With the extreme temperatures mRNA has to be stored at to be even remotely effective, I fear it's pretty much the placebo effect. I'm not against vaccines, I just wish they went the traditional vaccine route with this whole thing. Crossing my fingers Novavax gets their vaccine approved for EUA soon but heard they're experiencing delays in the U.S.

The placebo effect is working pretty damn well for 90% of those that got vaccinated. Had they waited for a traditional vaccine, we’d all still be wearing masks and social distancing.

I didn't say they were ineffective, I said you can't wrap your head around they fact they they may not be as effective as you think.

This is exactly right. Nowhere did Sarge suggest that his daughter reported that the unvaccinated were not getting infected, they're just not running to the ER with mild cold symptoms.

The likelihood is that people who have chosen not to get vaccinated believed that they could handle an infection with a 99.97% rate of survival at home with some Tylenol and Robitussin, which is likely what those 21 people were sent home with. I would hope that most people declining the vaccine have done so because they are relatively young, relatively healthy, and have a relatively reasonable BMI. If that is the case, why would you run to the ER with sniffles and a dry cough?
