Covid Vaccine

Wow, if you can, get live updates from Melbourne. Ho-lee ****, people have had enough.

Some leftist labor commissioner, who has literally never worked in private industry, is the sole arbiter of who can legally work, when and where. Aussie construction workers shut down yesterday are not taking it any more and cops facing an angry crowd of 10,000 are running.

They need to pull that labor commissioner out of his office right now and have a public trial.

EDIT: Labor commissioner is Dan Andrews, who earned an arts degree in 1995 and has worked the past 26 years for the Labor Party or the government. HE is deciding who gets to work and earn a living.

Time to cook up labor commissioner on the barbie.

I've read it's more than 20K right the moment protesting.

And Dan Andrews is the epitome of what is wrong with leadership in this world. And he wields far too much power there.

Almost 52,000 people have died from Covid in Florida. That is the entire population of Pensacola, Florida.

Own the Libs! Down with tyranny! Nothing but the flu! Rise up against our overlords!

Over 68,000 have died in California from Covid. That is the entire population of Palo Alto.
Near 56,000 have died in New York from Covid. That is nearly the population of White Plains.
29,000 have died of Covid in Pennsylvania. That's the entire population of Williamsport.

What a ridiculously stupid point.

How many of those in Florida who died voted Democrat? I'm curious.

EDIT: By the way, your insinuation is that somehow Conservatives are responsible for Covid living on. Another, ridiculously, dumb, stupid argument. Covid is endemic. It's going to stay with us. And if the vaccines worked as promoted.....we wouldn't be here. But keep banging that drum Tiblio.

You have progressed from TDS to CDS. You are just totally ignoring all science and statistical analysis in favor of pure illogical emotional responses.

Strange that you should be so concerned with the Covid response of a country on the opposite end of the earth. It’s like it’s ideological for you…

As I said, come up with your own lines.

I am concerned about these mandates world wide. I am concerned with humanity, are you not? Do you not care about the brutalization of these people?

Of course you don't.

Using your logic, we shouldn't care about the kids gunned down at the school in Russia yesterday. Brilliant.

Yep. As reported before, 6 feet of social distancing was based on literally nothing. No science.

Six Foot Social Distancing Rule Was ‘Arbitrary … Nobody Knows Where It Came From’

The CDC guide for coronavirus prevention in schools, last updated August 5, 2021, now says schools should “maintain at least 3 feet of physical distance between students within classrooms to reduce transmission risk.”

“The single reason why most schools remained shut this spring was due to the CDC telling them they had to keep kids six feet apart. If the CDC has said you have to keep kids three feet apart, then a lot of schools would have opened.”

“The six feet was arbitrary in and of itself, nobody knows where it came from. The initial recommendation that the CDC brought to the White House was 10 feet, and a political appointee in the White House said we can’t recommend 10 feet. Nobody can measure 10 feet. It’s inoperable. Society will shut down. So the compromise was around six feet.”

“The CDC said 10 feet, it should be 10 feet, but 10 feet was no more right than six feet and ultimately became three feet. But when it became three feet, the basis for the CDC’s decision to ultimately revise it from six to three feet was a study that they had conducted the prior fall. So they changed it in the spring. They had done a study in the fall where they showed that if you have two masked individuals, two people wearing masks, the risk of transmission is reduced 70% with masks if you’re three feet apart. So they said on the basis of that, we can now make a judgment that three feet is an appropriate distance. Which begs the question if they had that study result in the fall? Why didn’t they change the advice in the fall? Why did they wait until the spring?”

“This is how the whole thing feels arbitrary and not science-based. So we talk about a very careful, process and these anecdotes get exposed, and that’s where Americans start to lose confidence in how the decisions got made.”

I read this earlier and its not exactly true that it’s based on nothing… there were high profile studies on respiratory droplets in the past and the majority of them did drop out at or before 6 feet, but the recommended distance was always ten for a “ buffer distance”

obviously they just got rid of that buffer for this and the dope who made these comments should have damn well read all those old pandemic studies because thats what the pandemic plan from the 2000’s was based on….

aerosols can suspend for 27 to 100 feet and stay in the air for hours… that doesn’t necessarily mean they stay viable that long, but they cumulate in non flowing air… social distancing is a mirage with them

There was someone that mad the fun out of this and our lovely ******* stickers on the floor. “It’s like covid said, **** that’s 6ft we gotta stop”.

doesn’t matter air flow, breeze, humidity, temp..etc. that **** just stops at that sticker.

IF the vaccine's effectiveness wanes and IF natural immunity is equal to or superior to the vaccine which would mean that therefore there is really no good reason for people who have had covid to get a vaccine, what is your rationale for demanding that everyone get a vaccine, even people who clearly don't need one? Given that there are small risks to getting one? We don't insist that people who are naturally immune to other illnesses get vaccines for them, why is this one different?

Does that question make me a bloodthirsty killer who doesn't care about death and wants to own the libs?? Just curious.

I read that the idea was introduced by George W. Bush. He saw a kid's science fair project in Texas about 6 feet of distance. And that's where the idea came from.

Regardless, it was grounded in basically nothing. But became national policy.

Where's that meme - where are the studies that show how many lives were saved from the arrows on the floor in grocery stores? LOL

To logical…. Its absolutely not a sure thing so people absolutely should get as many facts as they can and make their own choices

I advised both of my parents to get vaccinated because both are over 70 with a myriad of health problems
… my dad has been mostly in the hospital for months shortly after his second jab… his kidneys lost most if their function… there may or may not be a tie to it…. We don’t know yet

my mom likely had a small stroke today… i just spent the last 10 hours in the hospital with her… it’s crossed my mind that both could be from the different vaccines they got… but nonetheless it was the right decision for them…. They were really high risk

If i had a kid I would not let them get it… its way too risky for virtually no reward…. Im in the middle…. Im holding out for the type of vax I want … doesn’t mean I don’t want one…

2,087 total deaths, unvaccinated 11x more likely to die, more like 1,900.

The study took place between April 4th and July 17th, which is before the Delta variant really got going. It's also 2-5 months ago and the effectiveness of the vaccines for many people who got them early on has waned some since them. Not saying the vaccines are useless but this study doesn't take those factors into account. The vaccines were more effective against previous variants and also most effective soon after people get them.

Let me be clear, I hope all of you who are a little older, maybe overweight or have diabetes or other conditions, and have not already had covid get the vaccine. I think the data is clear that the benefits outweigh the risk for you. If you are young and healthy or have already had covid, I think it's a different discussion.
