Browns fans hate the Ravens too.
Whatever NFL team represents Cleveland and it's fans are the Browns. The history, colors, "tradition" remained in Cleveland. And so did the rivalry....ask any Browns fan.
If the Pittsburgh Steelers traded every one of their players for every Ravens player, 52 for 52, we would still be the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they would still be the Baltimore Ravens.
The Steelers Ravens rivalry is intense, but to think that they are still the Browns every time we play them had worn off a long time ago.
Let me clarify.
I did not mean to say Baltimore is actually the Browns.
In the 1980s, the Browns were the UNC to our Duke. The Wolverines to our Buckeyes. Our fiercest and most bitter rival.
I LOATHED the Browns in the 80s. Obviously Cincy and Houston (Oilers, not Texans for you youngens, now the Titans), too.
Since the Browns returned in 1999, it hasn't been much of a rivalry.
I think the win/loss is 40-10 our favor since '99.....? That's not a rivalry.
Since 1996, the games we've played, the hits, the trips to the SuperBowl, for supremacy in the AFCN.......that's been between Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
Suggs, Lewis, Ngata, Reed, etc. F THEM!
HATE and DESPISE Ravens today like I did the Browns of the 80s.
The Browns are the Browns, and the Ravens are the Ravens. I'm not trying to conflate the two.
Maybe Myles Garrett swinging his helmet at Rudolph, and the Browns beating us in a playoff game is the renewal of the old vitriol and hatred like we used to have in the 80s.
But right now, present day as I type this, I hate Baltimore and think they're the Steelers' fiercest most bitter rival.
NOT the Browns.\
