Daniels suffers Achillies tear

Definitely bad news. I was hoping to get some peace and continuity on the OL for a while. They will be the key on how things go on offense the rest of the year.

Seumalo was "doubtful" this week. I fully expect him to be on the field this week. Next man up and all that ****. McCormick and Anderson can fight it out for the RG spot. Leglue or Nester may also get a hat this week.

Leglue was alright as a fill in. Maybe he works for 1 game. Definitely need Seumalo at 100%. Would hate to see him rushed back only to get reinjured at this point.

Season ending injuries are brutal obviously..
Every NFL team has them ..

It’s almost like you start your backups early in season … wait till they get banged up or put on IR and then bring your starters into the starting line up about mid season or so..

NFL needs to expand rosters also .

That absolutely sucks. Especially for him personally. Contract/free agency year. This will probably cost him big dollars.
Goes to show you about depth on the line. At the time I kind of raised an eyebrow when they drafted another lineman in McCormick, with James fully entrenched in the position. But soon realized their thought process with James maybe not to be resigned after this season. it was a good move. And of course have grown to like the player. So kudos to the DraftTeam here.
More than likely Daniels last game as a Steeler, was a very good player and signing for us. Wishing him all the best.

This is why I always have mixed feelings regarding players who sit out training camp etc in the final year of their contract. This cost him some serious cash and he may sign a one year show me contract which also has risks. The Steelers may be able to hold onto him for that one year contract. He has 10 months to heal but I don't know what the expected recovery period is for a big guy who's success hinges on using those legs to push behemoths. Maybe he returns mid season 2025, that gives him over a year.

I think the Oline will be fine. I thought they were deep to begin with just not as deep now.

More worried about the team having enough playmakers.

Well, some fans wanted a youth movement on the OL, they now have it. Long term, I believe that this will be positive, probably not this year though.
I believe it will be positive this year, Isaac will be back next week or the week after that. Then you have two players that now have their feet wet at G.

No reason the Oline can’t become a strength moving forward provided they stay away from further season ending injuries.

McCormick hasn’t been disappointing. He has held his own pretty well, considering his rookie status.

Still looking, currently, for another high investment for this OL. Jones is nearly ruined or isn’t living up to 1st round status.

Expanded roster has been needed for awhile now. What’s holding it back is that with more players, the salary cap will need expanded and the owners don’t want that.

What would be the right number, based on a 18 (coming soon) game season. I think they would or should go to 60 players. That would add about 35-45 mill to salary cap. I feel sorry for the hardship this may cause for the owners……….. NOT

Actually...

This injury may work in our favor to resign him next year - think about it.

Actually Daniels was part of the OL youth. He’s only 27.

Two seasons ago when our OL was a dumpster fire I think you could count the number of snaps the starters missed on one hand. We're going to have to start calling guys sitting on couches at this rate 😥

Football was made to be played on grass.

But rigged studies say playing on concrete covered in synthetic nonsense is perfectly fine for lower bodies... totally great.. probably miraculously heals them as they run on it ...
ignore all the injuries that are turf specific.. 🤦🏻‍♂️
