Daniels suffers Achillies tear

McCormick hasn’t been disappointing. He has held his own pretty well, considering his rookie status.

Still looking, currently, for another high investment for this OL. Jones is nearly ruined or isn’t living up to 1st round status.

Salute the nation
At this point its all about communication and picking up assignments. The shuffling of the line has caused some errors out there and we paid for them.

I think Jones will be fine. We are just seeing the future a year early. Daniels was gone next year anyway, and McCormick was his likely replacement. If Issac is back, I think we are ok aside from having a rookie next to Jones. For whatever pain it causes this year it means not dealing with those growing pains next year at guard. i am ok with it but we need backups now.

Tackles typically take the longest to develop on the line... its common for one to suck for several years before rising to solid starter or star... Jones was known to be very raw and is playing out of position.. he will be ok..

Right now the team is missing:

Herbig, The Center it expected to start the year with, who was going to be the top backup at G when Frazier finally took over...

Seumalu: their best Guard/OL...

Daniels Their second Best Guard/OL...

Fautanu: their expected Starter at RT

So if you expected by seasons end the OL would be Jones-Seumalu-Frazier-Daniels-Fautanu...

Only Jones and Frazier are starting, Jones out of position and Frazier earlier than anticipated...

Most teams couldnt handle that level of OL devastation.. they were extremely deep...

I don't know if Jones is out of position......has he ever played LT in a pri game?

Omar needs to do some wheeling and dealing over the next few days. We need an OL starter.

Man, was thinking that we were about to turn a corner on Tomlin's famous lousy OLines. Maybe next year...again?

I wonder if he has an injury? We didnt see this from him last year. We thought he would displace Moore at LT, especially with Fautanu coming in. That he is struggling so badly shows regression that is not typical for a 2nd year first round pick.

Premature much?

Brutal year for injuries and credit to Khan for building the OL depth because they've literally used every piece of it. Just a devastating year for injuries for this group.

There was some talk during camp of a shoulder/elbow injury and he was wearing a brace on it for the first two games I believe.

He has an Elbow injury. I am sure that impacts his ability to punch.

Premature about what exactly?

We currently have 40% of the preseason starting group available. Half of that 40% is not playing well at all and, had it not been for a season ending injury to a rookie fresh off the injured list, would be riding the bench. Where he should be, frankly. He simply looks lost or disinterested half the time out there. The other half is the LT that we've spent a ton of draft capital on replacing, unsuccessfully. The remainder of the group going forward will be a rookie center, who is playing well despite an errant snap or two at KEY times, another rookie, and some journeymen players who are best when providing depth and spot starts. There are reasons these gentlemen are not starting players for us or anyone else.

IF there are no more injuries. IF Seumalu can get back and stay healthy. IF!

Too many IFs. All I'm suggesting is that we need to bring in some quality OL players if we intend to be a serious contender for a playoff spot and run. If we want to limp into yet another 9-8 campaign, then we just stay put and start LeGlue for the next 13 games. *shrug*

They already signed a T for depth. Where exactly is this OL that you are bringing in starting at? T over Jones and Moore? G over Issac and Mcormick (sp) or Anderson?

Sure there’s some ifs. At the two positions that have been ifs since training camp at number 2 WR and inside corner. That is where I am bringing in players to strengthen their greatest weakness…

Thanks, thought I remembered seeing that but its not being used as an excuse. If he is hurt then he should sit and get healthy. Would suck to ruin this kid's psyche running him out there injured
